Cadillac CEO Calls Out Apple CarPlay As Frustrating To Use
In recent years, Apple CarPlay has flooded the market and for many, it is hugely convenient and a serious time saver. However, Cadillac president Johan de Nysschen isn’t a big fan of the system.

Speaking to Yahoo Finance at the Detroit Auto Show, de Nysschen said that Apple CarPlay doesn’t operate as smoothly as he’d like.

“There are a lot of things about this product I like, and other things that drive me absolutely nuts," said de Nysschen.

This guy shouldn't be running his mouth...Cadillac Cue is about the worst car user interface out there. CarPlay may not be as smooth as BMW idrive or Audi MMI but it is much better than Cadillac Cue.

Honestly - Apple Car Play Maps on the CT6 is particularly annoying when it tells you about a turn AFTER you already passed the turn. And that needs to be fixed. Maybe the implementation from Cadillac is at fault - maybe there are more problems as well. This MIGHT be an indication that DeNysschen actually drives some of the cars he has foisted upon us. IF it results in a better implementation - it was worth mentioning. So far - I have yet to see any of the superior offerings that DeNysschen promised us - the CT6 was already under development when he arrived - but it is the last car that he was not completely involved with - and the next cars better show some major improvements.

The CT6 and XT5 are both OK-ish efforts. Building the Escala and having it replace the ATS and CTS would have been amazing. Then reskin the CT6 into an Elmiraj.

Nothing beats an integrated navigation system with a proper receiver, inertial guidance, and a direct interface, something that the iPhone sitting in your pocket or in a cupholder via CarPlay is simply not.

Hey, at least Cadillac unlike BMW is not charging their owners a monthly fee for the pleasure.

Reliability of Cadillac is its nemesis. Instead of the CEO accusing others of Caddy problems, he should acknowledge the greater Achilles heel or poor reliability and low quality damaging the brand.
