FCA had the LUCK of being in the right place at the right time. Getting Chrysler essentially for nothing - which includes JEEP -just when SUV/CUV purchases took off to overtake sedans(That they did not have anyway) - allowed them to rake in the profits.

I suppose if there was a major event that interrupted worldwide oil (Like a Saudi Arabia /Iran war) - FCA would up the creek without a paddle - but that is unlikely. However - I still do not see FCA overtaking FORD - The F100 is still a cash cow - and Ford of Europe is still far better than FIAT.

Damn with faint praise if you ask me. Beating Ford ain't saying much. Sergio always reminds me of the kid who kills his parents and asks the judge for leniency because he is an orphan.
