UK's Policing Chief Pushes For ZERO Tolerance On Speeding - Would That Work Here?

Speedometers are not accurate enough for a zero % buffer. That's why they have the leeway they do. It's also why so many manufacturers purposely make them read faster than you're really going. I always compare my car with a GPS readout, or a roadside radar speed display to see how far it's off. My new Subaru Outback is actually really close to actual speed, but my Audi and past VWs were always 3-4 MPH higher than I was actually traveling.

But if they need/want a reason to pull you over, they can do so with a 1 MPH over the limit claim.

this is nothing more than a push for more cash...
i for one say there should be zero tolerance on police corruption and abuse... lets see how that flies with him.

While Alt.Right-ers MDarringer and fiftysix blame the communists, socialists, and Democrats, and they allege a conspiracy theory of attempted control of The Union, I observe that municipalities (regardless of political affiliation) choose to adopt speed cameras because they're an effective revenue-generating tool.

Add to this the lobbyists from the Camera companies -- who share in the revenue generation of caught victims -- and you can see this is purely a money-making scheme; not a safety program; and not a politically motivated conspiracy.

By the way, these Camera companies -- who install and service the cameras -- often shorten the amber light time in order to get more red-light runners. It has been proven, and well-documented. The Camera company profits. The municipality profits. Only the drivers suffer.
