No Ear Plugs Required: FIA Approves Dedicated Telsa Racing Series

The forthcoming Electric Production Car Series has been officially sanctioned by the FIA - the governing body for world motorsport - ahead of its inaugural 2018 season.

The series will be contested by up to 20 identical, race-prepared Tesla Model S P100Ds, modified to produce 784bhp (585kW) and capable of 0-62mph in 2.1 seconds thanks to a vastly reduced kerbweight.

I wonder if there are enough Tesla fans to make this more than a niche.

Eventually - we will have a lot of EVS from many companies - Mercedes - VW's stable - and others will be producing competition for Tesla. AND with the number of brands - VW's Porsche and Lamborghini are going to produce competitive if not outright leading EVS because of their advantage on prices.

However - until competition is in place - this will be a niche too small to be of value.

You know, repeating BS doesn't make it any less of a BS.
Just a trolling advice, you gotta mix it up a bit, otherwise you get spotted out and easily ignored ;)

This aught to be good. The dramatic Farce reinvented as a race series!

If you drive a Tesla flat out, they either quickly go into "limp home" mode or else the battery rapidly drains down like an old iPhone 4.

What do the fans do while the race is halted so the cars can spent 30 minutes on the charger?

Is it a two lap series?

Yeah, is this why these guys are pouring millions into an eGT racing series?
