Is The FIA Decision To Replace Grid Girls With Grid Kids A Step In The Right Direction Or Opening Another Can Of Worms?
The FIA announced Monday a new partnership called Grid Kids that will provide current youth racers "the opportunity to stand alongside their heroes on the grid."

There has been much ado about Formula 1's recent decision to abolish the tradition of grid girls. Many have embraced the move, believing the practice is demeaning to women or wanting to see women featured in other prominent positions in motorsport instead. Others have objected, such as former racer Niki Lauda, who declared it a "decision against women."

First safety cars, then the rose water subbed for campaign and now no more Grid Gals -they lost me as a fan years ago and this is the straw that broke the camel jockeys back.

Lets mix young excitable hero worshipping kids with large crowds, fast cars and their heroes...whatever could go wrong?

All these political correctness is out of hand and beyond ridiculous. Having grid kids take it to another level of stupidity... I’d be concerned for little kids running around fast cars and hectic traffic (people/golf cars/trucks).

Frankly - this is meaningless in the long run. It just does not affect enough people to make a difference.

If only the youth wasn't so influenced by the mere loose habits of adults...and so forth.

Grid Kids huh. lol. Just sounds like a plan to provide a Grid Girls-replacement that so ridiculous that it'll eventually make Grid Girls seem more like an obvious choice. On the surface, the "Kids" solution makes the pre-race events more family-oriented.

But to suggest that a Grid Girl can't admire a driver is a bit sexist you think? That's like saying a woman can't be a professional after earning a degree bcuz she worked as stripper to put herself through college.

meh, i think "kids" is to stand for youth racers so they should be appreciative of speed related safety. also kids can be both girls and boys.

i guess if you were watching the race for 5 seconds of girls candy and not 3 hours of cars candy then i guess you can not watch.

doesn't really make a tick of difference to me.
