Collectors Rejoice As Dodge Confirms Challenger SRT Demon Will Be A One Year Wonder

Dodge has confirmed that there will not be a Challenger SRT Demon produced for the 2019 model year.

When the drag-focused Demon was unveiled last year, the automaker said it would only be built for the 2018 model year and limited to 3300 examples worldwide. Despite this, a number of rumors have surfaced indicating that due to demand, Dodge has decided to build the Demon for one more year.

My son picked a Demon up at MSRP by placing a very early order from dealer he bought his Hell Cat from. Dealer honored commitment at MSRP. I only bring it up as reminder that there are some good honest dealers out there. I'm very unhappy with these limited addition models, price gouging, preferential customer treatment and immediate flip profits. I think the whole approach stinks to high heaven bringing out the worst in human behavior. The losers are angry and the winners succumb to greed. While my son was tempted to flip he has decided to drive the wheels off the Demon for many years.

By that logic then would you sell your house for the same or less money that you originally paid for it even if it had appreciated substantially over the course of your ownership? Cars are no different and are personal property and one should be free to do as they please with ones "property" regardless if it is stocks, real estate, autos or other assets.

The MSRP is the "Suggested" retail price. More often than not it is not honored by the customer due to supply/demand so it's hypocritical to be offended when it works against them.

There was--surprisingly--not as much interest in the Demon as I thought there would be.

In prestige and sales numbers, the Demon is Dodge's effective replacement for the Viper.

It did create a buzz.
