#CAS2018: Chicago Teens Try To Have Their Own Chicago Auto Show By Carjacking. It Didn't Go So Well.
Ricky Fobbs, 54, was on a visit to Chicago with his girlfriend to see family and friends, and was simply unloading luggage from his car in front of a hotel Friday evening.

Unfortunately, Fobbs’ car was running — and with that a 15-year-old boy hopped into the driver’s seat and tried to take off, police told the Chicago Sun-Times.

But the carjacker had no idea who he was messing with.

Fobbs not only is a retired Chicago cop who spent 20 years on the force, he’s also presently working as a Texas Ranger based in Dallas, WBBM-TV reported...

Right on Ricky, but you should've beat the devil out of him. On duty or retired, normally cops are ready to put bullets in you, oh that's those other cops...

@610looper Whoever must have down-voted you needs to understand what it is to be the victim of a 'jacking...perhaps that might change his view. BTW, I concur with your comment.

Chicago is a great city. What trailer park do you live in?

610looper, cops are not ready "to put a bullet in you." Nearly everyone of those idiots shot had a long rap sheet and were not complying with directions. If you knew anything about how they are trained to deal with a threat perhaps you would not be so smug.
Perhaps you should try a ride along, but bring an extra pair of undies for when you s**t yourself.

Truthy, a rapsheet means nothing. If you are too scared to do the job and all you can do is shoot first, perhaps the job isn't for you.

Nurses and doctors, hospital staff, postal workers, fastfood workers, etc...work with the public, they can't body slam patient's in the ER or admitted because the patient gets loud and unruly, even if the patient was to get in their face.

Postal workers and fastfood workers get sh*t on too, but unlike the police, everyone else is held accountable for their actions big or small and are not given the benefit of the doubt.

Last year, there was a police officer who manhandled an ER nurse in Utah and he bullied, threatened, and arrested this nurse for following the law. He was fired because the video went viral and there was national outrage. Again, if you can't do your job on the streets, maybe a desk job is for you.

Wow, you found one officer out of the millions. Oh, and what happened when the department found out? They fired him. You can find people in any profession that do not live up to the standards. But for you, and the media, to condemn all of them for the very rare actions of a few reveals your intellectual limitations.
Do some research on how police are trained how to deal with threats. You cannot wait until the criminal shoots you to make a decision. Great article in Time magazine last year about this. Look it up.

Where the car was taken is not in the ghetto.
See, for all you small town people out there, Chicago is a huge city. The ghettos are relatively small enclaves on the south and west side and this is where most of the crime happens. I know that if live in a town where marrying your cousin is a viable option the big city can seem scary.
