Pininfarina Chosen To Design SUV And Sedan For First Vietnamese Automaker

The designs, an SUV and saloon, share similar looks and were chosen over 20 other examples from rival design houses. They're due to become primary models from a new Vietnamese car brand called Vinfast.

Italian design house Pininfarina said that while the designs are set for further development, they are on course to become the first cars made by a Vietnamese manufacturer.

Pininfarina was responsible for the to-die-for gorgeous Ferraris, back in the day. Let's see what they can do for SUVs! Seeing as it's a "new Vietnamese brand," Pininfarina might be cost constrained, and not be able to express their full potential.

That seems like quite a racist statement TheSteve.

@MDarringer, once again, you're like a Nazi calling someone else mean. That's plain to any reader who has read your history of hateful posts. And once again, you display typical Alt.Right traits of Denial, Deflection, and Derision. This this case, Deflection -- accusing others of your own traits.

Actually, you remind me of the Gay-bashing, Christian-right, "family values" married guy, who is discovered to have ongoing secret liaisons with a male prostitute (this analogy speaks to your hypocrisy, and accusing others of your own traits). This is not new for you. It appears periodically in your posts. Its an MDarringer constant.

Just as an FYI, the phrase "new Vietnamese brand" is a quote, right out of the article. Vietnam is not yet known for making luxury cars, so it's reasonable to believe this new brand will be an economy brand, and cash constrained as a startup. The only racism here, is in your mind, deflected to others :-/ But then again, that's not new for you, Matt.

Pininfarina is now owned by Tractor Company Mahindra if INDIA - because of major money problems along with fewer work projects. SInce it already just a shell of it former self - the question is whether it can produce designs that appeal to the exotic nature of what it once did.

While I wish them well - just the fact that they are designing for a Vietnam car company is telling - and just much further down can they go?

@TomM The only place lower than a Vietnamese car company would be Tesla.
