Volkswagen's Workforce Believes There Has Been ZERO Progress In Improving Management Accountability
Volkswagen AG's drive to improve accountability has made no progress, the automaker's top labor representative said.

Almost two thirds of staff see "no improvement" in VW's corporate culture nearly two and a half years after the diesel-emissions fraud was revealed, works council chief Bernd Osterloh said on Thursday

Osterloh was citing results of a labor survey of more than 51,000 workers carried out in December at German plants.

This has been plainly evident, every step of the way, since Diselgate debuted in September 2015. Examples:

- US authorities investigating Dieselgate report that VW stonewalls them, with VW claiming secrecy under German law, while VW PR says they're fully cooperating with authorities.

- VAG (Volkswagen Audi Group) diesels failing emissions tests in early 2017 because -- you guessed it --they included cheat devices similar to those disclosed by Dieselgate in 2015.

- Falsifying import documentation in 2016.

The "new" VW sure does operate like the "old" VW :-(

German management style is highly autocratic. Do as you are told and follow orders. I once had a meeting with a board member of one of Germany's largest companies. Before the meeting his advance team told me "This is what Mr. X will say. And this is what you will say to him in response." After about five minutes of this nonsense I told them "Mr. X can say whatever he chooses. In return I will say whatever I choose to say. Got it." You should have seen the look of horror in their eyes. VW under Piech had to be the same and likely continues today.

There is a series on Netflix called "Dirty Money"...the first episode is about VW. It is a very interesting watch and goes to show the arrogance and corporate culture at VW. One of the most ridiculous things VW wanted to do to prove how "clean" their Diesels were was to gas (initially Human subjects but their lawyers shot that down) monkeys with diesel emissions to show they were safe. It is unbelievable that a company controlled by a family whose wealth came from being closely affiliated with Nazis would come up with such a bone headed scheme to prove something that everyone now knows isn't true.
