SPIED: Could This Be The Next Gen Porsche 911?
An anonymous tipster has brought to our attention that someone has posted an image of what seems to be the new Porsche 911 (992) on Instagram. In fact, the photo has been up on the social medial channel for nearly a week, but it’s only now the very interesting image is beginning to make the headlines (you'll see it everywhere in the following hours.) While we can’t say for sure it’s 100% legit, there are reasons to believe that it is.

Meet the new 911...nothing to see...move on.

Fans of the Porsche Super Beetle will be smitten of course.

The 911 leaves me cold.

One of the very rare times I agree with you. But yeah, big whoop.

Does every new car need a big ass to be aerodynamic?

It's called "body positive". You really have to watch what you say here or the Alt-Left Inquisition will show up and chide you with an essay.

@valhallakey - Son of Odin, that rear stance you see is the same one the "real" Turbo model and always has been for the 4S model. It gets the widebody to make it a bit different than the Carrera S model. Not very pretty in the photo for this article. The squished black treatment tail lights seem to be creeping across the brand Macan, Panamera and now 911.

If it's a sports car, I want it to have balls.

I don't know of any Porsche that doesn't have balls. Style wise always conservative and resistant to serious change. But even the base Cayman has plenty of balls with 300HP.

I was replying to the asinine (sic) comment.

Simple Porsche formula... give our fans a reason to buy a new one every five years by tweeking the styling a little and upping the performance a little. Its been a successful approach for 50 years so why change. Boring to many bu Porsche generates the highest profit margin in the industry by a wide margin. Not my cup of tea but there are plenty who think otherwise.

I know it's widely reported that Porsche has the highest profit margins but I always forget: Does that account for the company's creative financial tactics that almost took it out of business several years ago or is this purely based on margins for each vehicle sold?

@OOR - It must be the per unit profit. That move where they tried to take on enough debt to own VW was pure folly and ended up with VW buying out the rest of Porsche as I recall. The tail never wags the dog.

Correct. Per unit profit. Consensus is split on whether this photo is legit or a "curveball". Note the duller sheen above the fenders as one example. It is likely very close but may not be actual product.
