RUMOR: The Grand Tour AXED? Jeremy Clarkson Takes On New Hosting Gig, Signs Of Life NOT Looking Good
It was only several years ago that a fight broke out over a hot dinner and one of the world's most prominent motoring programs went, essentially, belly up. The BBC gave Jeremy Clarkson the boot and soon Andy Wilman, Richard Hammond and James May decided to decline the BBC's advances.

So, now what?

The BBC rebooted Top Gear with all-new hosts and it simply sucks and then Amazon threw an assload of money the trio's way. Thus, The Grand Tour was born.

But, it hasn't been particularly entertaining or doing that well, it seems. We know this because the latest word circulating, after Jeremy Clarkson announced that he will be taking on hosting duty for Who Wants to be A Millionaire, is that the show will not get a fourth season. It's the end of the road.

Have YOU been tuning into The Grand Tour? I know I haven't.

The latest is that Jeremy Clarkson is being dismissive of The Mail's reporting, tweeting: "Hilarious you believe Mail Online" — Let's see how this shakes out.

It was one of Amazon’s flagship shows – and it pumped a massive £100 million into making three series.

But now it seems Jeremy Clarkson’s action-packed motoring extravaganza The Grand Tour may be out of gas.

Amazon hasn’t offered Clarkson a fourth series and he has already found himself a new job – presenting a revamped version of ITV quiz show Who Wants To Be A Millionaire...

I've watched the Grand Tour and with the exception of the chit chat sessions with the celebrities and the pointlessness of the celebrities in a car crap, the magic between Calrkson, Hammond, and May is still there. But they feel tired of the game.

As for Top Gear, I like Leblanc, Reid, and Harris. Leblanc is pure gold. Harris is the real-deal car guy. Reid is comic relief.

TGT is still terrific but agree the celebrity thing stinks... I hope this is not true as those 3 clowns together = great tv... Top Gear America totally blows and I’m getting used to TG w/Joey, guy landed a primo gig and big shoes to fill...

TGT is a dud and Clarkson is an old prick trying to be funny.

That's why he's brilliant.

Leblanc has an IQ of about 45 and his claim to fame is playing himself on a sitcom. And I'm going to watch this moron drive cars? No thanks.

That's what makes him brilliant on Top Gear.

TGT is played out on the one hand. On the other hand, it also shows the limitations of "non-cable" TV.

How many of the prior Top Gear BBC audience actually took the time and effort to figure out how to watch it on Amazon Prime? Sure its easy for people committed to watching it but that's probably 10% of the people needed to actually make it viable.

They have lost the "channel surfers" and thus the audience/ratings.

The novelty has worn off.

I'm not that old. Found TG by actually channel surfing one weekend morning in a hotel room. Thought these older dudes & their chatter/arguments were a complete hoot. The production finish is among the best in TV & film - no matter what country they're shooting in.

Tons better than the "tone" from some longtime shows (MotorWeek, Trucks, etc) with hosts that talk in these weird tones. Basically lacking normal conversation about the vehicles.

Was sorry to see the trio leave BBC. Like the idea of TGT & maintaining their momentum & style of production. However, on being available only on Amazon Prime forces viewers to "pay" for it - especially if they didnt use Amazon too often. They've lost the "casual" viewers which all public broadcast companies benefit from today.

I actually enjoyed Top Gear without Jeremy Clarkson et al. At some point one would get tired of Clarkson, May and Hammond's stupid antics. At first I didn't think I would enjoy Top Gear after Clarkson left but each episode gets better and better. I enjoy it to the point where I actually prefer Top Gear over The Grand Tour.

Leblanc is hilarious. Harris is the true car guy. Reid is the lovable clown. it's a great team.

With Clarkson, Hammond, and May, I'd get rid of the celebrity chit chat and the celebrity around the track nonsense. The three of them in cars is the gold. I'd love them to do more old car sketches. Their Alfa Romeo episode on Top Gear with each of them in an old Alfa was brilliant. I seem to recall a British Leyland episode with a Triumph Dolomite, a Rover, and an Austin Princess (???)??? Putting them in old TVRs and having them drive across some godforsaken land would be great. I love their "The Interceptors" TV show.

I thought Jeremy Clarkson was banned to the world of banal infomercials.

No. That was Chris Evans.

Well Clarkson called the rumors bullshit. This probably means it's true. Sad as all three have great chemistry and are truly funny. Top Gear is certainly much better without Chris Evans. The 3 presenters are good even if they are not up to the level of Clarkson, May, and Hammond. I agree in that the celebrity stuff is merely a re-hash of what they did in Top Gear. In a way I think I enjoyed the original last years celebrity disaster with May saying "So I guess they will not be appearing on the show then".
