#NYIAS: LEAKED! Japanese Rag EXPOSES The All-new, 2019 Subaru Forester BEFORE Its Big Apple Debut
Although I am fairly confident that our audience here at AutoSpies aren't exactly following Subaru's every move, the reality is that the company has made significant headway in recent years. Audi and Subaru have effectively convinced every buyer that in order to be safe they NEED all-wheel drive.

And now every manufacturer has essentially been forced into offering AWD as an option thanks to Quattro and Symmetrical All-wheel Drive.

Debuting at the 2018 New York Auto Show (NYIAS) will be the all-new, 2019 Subaru Forester. And, judging from the two leaked images provided by a Japanese automotive publication, it's not going to be a revolutionary move.

This is a toughie because we know buyers are looking for vehicles with presence but I think given the typical Subaru buyer, it shouldn't harm this nameplate's very clear, upward sales trajectory.

We think it's safe to say the 2019 Forester will benefit from a four-cylinder Boxer motor and will feature AWD.

Does it really even matter though?

OMG!...it's so radically similar....to whats on the road today.

meh...pretty sure Subaru really wants more attention on the new Ascent crossover.

I enjoy the majority of posts on this site, even though the days of me driving a low slung sedan are long gone. But in fact, I do drive a brand new Subaru Outback, so I do believe that there are some Subaru fans here. But yeah, probably not a large percentage of your readers. BTW, I can't give up performance completely, so I did buy the 6 cylinder, not the four. :)

I don't view Subaru as a major innovator, or a "Look at me! We're all about tech!" brand. But they do make good vehicles. If something happened to my current ride (Audi Q5 3.0 TDI) and I was forced to replace it, I'd visit Subaru showrooms to get to know them better.

Indeed. Subaru actually took a very basic AWD system and found a way to market it as supposedly an advantage by calling it "Symmetrical AWD" and yet symmetrical drive is exactly what you would NOT want.

Subaru, the brand for folks whose biggest lifestyle change is using unbleached paper towels.

Actually, my friend just bought an Outback as a second car to supplement his German roadster. Very odd combo. He's a womanizing attorney which just adds to the "odd" part of it all.

Even odder, I'm weirdly interested in the Crosstrek (even before he got his Outback). What is happening to me???

It's the NVH of the Super Beetle engine that's doing it.

And if you're a successful womanizer or a manizer, the car you drive makes no difference. Unsuccessful men think they need a certain car to attract Ms. or Mr. Right Now.
