Breakout The Checkbook: Jeep Scrambler Pickup To Be In Dealerships By April Next Year
The redesigned Jeep Wrangler is now in dealerships, but when will the highly anticipated pickup truck variant arrive? According to Automotive News, who spoke with Fiat-Chrysler dealers, the Wrangler-based pickup will be in showrooms by next April, just over one year from now. FCA itself has declined to comment on the vehicle’s arrival. We previously knew Wrangler pickup production is set to get underway in the fourth quarter of this year, so a spring arrival makes sense.

Every once in a while - a manufacturer produces the "It" vehicle that everyone wants to be seen in - THe original Mustang - was one of those cars - as was the Chrysler Cordoba - neither of them were earth shattering in any way except their style.

THe fact is - virtually the WHOLE Jeep lineup is also in that category - they are not really reliable vehicles (in fact the opposite) - and some of them are really bad (Yes some are also good) - but they are JEEPS - and they sell - and so the Truck will also sell well too.

Why will this sell? A half ton F150 is a massive vehicle. It is also the number one sold vehicle in North America. Consumers simply like pick up trucks. But they would like them even more if they were about 3/4 of the current size. And did not have economy car styling. The new Jeep pick up will take advantage of all of those trends and sell in quantity all day long.

What did you base this: "But they would like them even more if they were about 3/4 of the current size" on?

The Tacoma, Canyon, and Colorado are 3/4 size and the big pickups handily outsell them.

@MD -More means on top of the half-ton figures. Many stay on the sidelines bc they are too big. Some will buy the 3 you mention, but they are not going to appeal to a certain buyer. The new Jeep pick up will.
