R8 Sold Out Before the First Car Hits the Showroom in UK

Not even available officially, the Audi R8 is already sold out in UK. Very impressing, but it's a fantastic car and we are sure that each owner will have great fun with it.

Audi's first supercar is a sell-out success, months before the first R8s are delivered to British customers. Firm orders have already been placed for all 400 of the first UK allocation, with 50 more customers in line behind them.

Pre-production models have been out and about on the streets near Audi's Ingolstadt HQ, and we're assured that on the road it looks and sounds fantastic. Although the engine is based on one used in other Audis, in the R8 it sounds richer. We'll see and hear it for ourselves on the road in Britain next spring, when it goes on sale, priced from a likely £77,000.

well Jugnu you aren't getting one then. If the RS4 comes in at $73K loaded and an S6 comes in at around $75K, do you honestly think you will get an R8 for under $80K?

Keep dreaming, pony up the cash and into the $100K range for one of these R8s Jugnu.

If it has the same performance numbers as the 911C4S I'ld be willing to pay about the same. I have trust in Audi's race car heritage. That is as long as the option list isn't as long as Porsche's.

It will most likely outperform teh 911 C4S. The RS4 already just about matches it.

I'm pretty sure it's sold out in Germany, too.

It better come to the US soon if they want to make a big splash. Every other billboard on the highway should have a big R8 on it- people would actually notice that there's an Audi sportscar!
