#NYIAS: So, What's A $300k Range Rover SV Coupe REALLY Like? BEST Real-life Snaps HERE!
When it comes to high dollar sport-utility vehicles, very few people do it as right as Land Rover. The Range Rover has become synonymous with having a certain status and, frankly, they do have great ride quality.

So, where do you go when you have the SVAutobiography in a long wheelbase?

New York Auto Show

You go even more exclusive and offer an all-new form factor. Dubbed the SV Coupe, Land Rover has reintroduced the two-door flagship. And, it'll cost you.

About $300,000, to be precise.

But is it worth it? Well, Spies, you'll have to decide. Agent 001 spent a lot of time around the vehicle to capture the essence of the Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) team's handiwork. And, I will say this: After spending a bit of my own time in and around the SV Coupe, there's something special about it.

I don't recall a two-door Range Rover since Princess Diana was seen piloting one around the countryside. For some that will be enough to justify this special build.

That’s an interesting way to do a two tone interior. Glad they finally offered the two door as I have been eagerly awaiting a slightly less practical version of this car. Heading to the dealer now.

LOL! Love your last two lines!

We're big fans of the two-tone look in this particular application. But, if you want our hearts and souls, you've got to see what BMW did with some concepts that had different colors for the driver/passenger seats.

Agent 00R - Frankly - I thought the Gray colors were actually a little boring in Person. Nor did I really like which panels had the different colors as well.
I am not a two-tone fan though - so I will not rant hard on that. My problem is that this vehicle just did not appear to be anything that much more special than any other Range Rover - where was the extra $200,000 put?

@TomM - It would be great to hear from someone in the production/engineering space, but doing new stampings for the rear quarter panels as well as the two doors, changing the structure to accept them and still be crashworthy, possible crash testing etc. On a limited run, they likely had to charge that much just to make a tiny profit.

I agree, Tom.

Just give me a RR LWB and I am fine.

Wish I could get the LWB with a diesel motor though. No need for the supercharged V8, IMHO.

looks like they hired the set designer from ALL in THE FAMILY to do the interior and used Archie Bunkers chair as their inspiration. Atleast, make it comfortable since your be in it waiting for the tow truck for many hours to come.

Canadian: - While I agree that -for a Limited Hand made run - the vehicle might actually be required to have a price like that - MY point is that they made NO effort to make the Vehicle look that much different from any other RangeRover. Since the Two toned paint could have been easily done on any of the bodies - that is not an issue - From the Front and the Rear it looks the same - and from the side - you really need to look to see the two doors.

If you are going to set up a special - at least make it really really special.

$300K is $250K too high for this mess.

For $300,000 you could have had a genuine super-luxury car, like a Bentley Bentayga. I don't see Rover in the same league. It's not even close. Not even in the top spots of luxury cars, where Mercedes and BMW play. And their reliability numbers are near the bottom, between Fiat and Chysler (http://www.jdpower.com/press-releases/jd-power-2018-us-vehicle-dependability-study)

You sure gotta be a die-hard Rover fan to be looking at this.

I think it's safe to say it will be for the diehards and in very limited supply.

@Agent00R: My guess is that the "very limited supply" will match up well with the very limited demand.

A 2 door SUV and a 4 door coupe is just not right.

A whole bunch of my opinions aside, I wouldn't have a clue this was a $300K vehicle - not even close. And for the people for whom these things matter, I think that's a critical fail.

$300K and the rear seats don't have retractable foot rests? It would seem to me that that would be a huge purpose for even building this, where the two rear passengers can be pushed about 8 inches to the rear cargo area, where the rear seats will be able to recline, with footrests, without having to encroach on the front two seats. Guess not.

This isn't meant to be a Maybach-type experience. I think they're selling you on the two door RR more than a über luxury limo experience.

For $3ook, I lose two doors? WTF? Nope.

Agent OOR - I think the major problem is that when you spend that much EXTRA money for a car - you really really want it NOT TO LOOK almost exactly like a car $220,000 cheaper.
YOU were at the Ny SHow - and I was there as well. I must say that I was for the most part - completely disappointed with the shown cars. There was little that I could point to and say really looked SPECIAL - something that this two door also lacks. Maybe that genesis was not so bad (I really did not like it though) - but there was little in the way of "new" - a lot of same old same old - some new that looked SAME old - and some that just plain looked OLD. THe crossovers pretty much all looked alike to me. Not really looking into the 4x4s - but there was nothing that really tha was outstanding enough to mention.
