Are "Murdered Out" Rides Played Out For Good?

Are
You know when it's a great Friday afternoon, the sun's shining bright and you're cruising in a nice vehicle. It's 72 degrees and you're on the way to your favorite place to have an al fresco lunch. It's almost too perfect.

And then you see it.

A "murdered out" something or another crosses your path. Everything imaginable on the auto is blacked out. From the colorless trim bits to indecipherable out nameplate to the barely functional headlights and taillights, it's a vehicle done up head-to-toe. Essentially, it's a rolling black hole.

For A-list celebrities like the Kardsashian/Jenner crew, David Beckham, Mark Wahlberg and plenty of athletes, a murdered out vehicle was the only way to go. These days though, with the adoption of creative wraps, it seems as though the murdered out trend is as good as dead.

I can't help myself from thinking "lame" when I come across a vehicle that's been dropped in a bucket of black paint. What say you, Spies?

Are murdered out vehicles played out for GOOD?

No. Murdered out rides will never be out. There will always be insecure jerks who try desperately to look badass. The simplest way to do this is to spray everything matte black.

maybe the driver don't like any of the chrome & other misc "brightwork" on HIS vehicle.

as more automakers offer some sort of "blacked out" trim option for their cars/trucks/SUVs its does seem like the demur styling is becoming passe. Kinda like older parents or aunts/uncles wearing trendy clothes. There are probably still so few fully "murdered out" cars in most areas that it really doesn't matter.

initially, blacking out all the exterior bits was meant to blend-in within the typical traffic. Today, it's a definite attention-getter nonetheless. If it's not overdone on a nice car, it's still kinda slick.

Good riddance then but there will always be douchy ballers rolling in the hood in these things. Almost as bad as Liberals.

Indeed. Liberals are an even lower life form.

But (1) you know it's coming and (2) that it will be "celebrated" with 17 identical posts.

I'm old enough that black wheels still give me a gut reaction of missing hubcaps.

It must be a dying fad. GM just introduced blacked out Chevy and GMC pickups. GM is almost always late to the party.

I like how certain people try to equate “murdered out rides” with stereotypes.
That style lost its luster when soccer moms ands conservative douchebags started doing it.
its not drug dealers and pimps and rappers who do that to their cars. Those are the people who have the most colorful cars. When you see a matte black anything these days its generally a guy trying to look much cooler than he really is.
Furthermore I love how you keep talking about the hood? Been there or just watching a lot of Fox News????

I'm "in the hood" on a regular basis for work purposes (Chicago, Gary, Cleveland, Detroit...) and not for crack ho's or because I'm pimpin and no I don't watch Fake News -er Fox News either.

We get it Agent00R you don't like car modifications. You want cars to remain the way the left the showroom. Get over yourself, you've been harping on modified cars for the longest. LOL!!
