Yet from chief executive Andy Palmer to chief creative officer Marek Reichmann, the company knew it was time to shatter the mold. That Russian-doll template has pressed every recent Aston—the largest Rapide sedan, midsize Vanquish, and two-seat Vantage—into the admittedly glorious image of the DB7 and subsequent DB9 (designed by Ian Callum before he departed for Jaguar).

They're totally different cars. I don't believe there will be much (any?) cross-shopping or cannibalization of Porsche's 911 sales.

I will be happy if the next Vanquish doesn't look like a DB11 "S". Not sure what they will do but it needs more than just different headlights. I would also ditch the air/vent/virtual spoiler for a real one. Time will tell.
