SPIED: BEST Pictures Yet Of The All-new BMW X5 — Are You Feelin' It's NEW Look?
The BMW X5 has been an interesting product to watch evolve. While the first two generation vehicles were really differentiated in the busy sport-utility vehicle market, there seems to be a bit of complacency among the blue and white.

Just look at the current-generation vehicle's design, inside and out.

Admittedly so, that didn't stop two of my family members from picking up a six-cylinder and an eight-cylinder for their respective fleets.

As the third-gen X5 didn't particularly move the needle so far forward, we're eagerly awaiting the fourth-gen product. That's because we're anticipating it to be loaded to the gills with the latest BMW technology. As a large volume vehicle, it's important that BMW bring its "A" game to remain competitive but is strategic enough not to alienate its current crop of owners.

In this latest collection of spy photos, it's clear the X5 gets a nip/tuck here and there but it's not particularly revolutionary on the outside. Check out the all-new, much larger kidney grilles and the all-new headlights. Around the back, you will no longer find the L-shaped taillights. Instead you'll find something that appears to be of the first-gen Audi Q5 variety and a seriously large set of exhaust tips.

Here's to hoping BMW really steps up the interior in a serious way.

Oh they took a cue from Tesla -- more glass, lower beltline.

This thing looked old when it first came out, and each succeeding generation has not advanced that.

Meet the new look. Same as the old look.

It looks bloated. Fail.

It's... fine. It's really... quite... fine. Not gorgeous, or interesting, or new, or sexy, or...

Well, at least kudos for not being ugly! With today's cars, that's a refreshing change.

Fear must be the overriding principle that drives the design of new vehicles at BMW. With cash cow products like the X5, every change is measured in millimetres. Nothing bold, different or drastic. Just more of the same to keep buyers (lessee's) happy.

Which ultimately causes stagnation and decline. This needed much more of the gorgeous styling that BMW lavishes on its concepts. The side line is absolutely horrible and may even compete with the VW Atlas for the Aztek Detail Award.

They made it a tad bit longer and changed the lights. Now it looks uneven like it might break in the middle if there is too much weight.

It looks like a big X3.

Looks very "hatchback" like.

Grille looks like pig nostrils. Side character line curves up in a contrived way. Silly shaped exhaust finishers. Rear end looks like the back of a shoe. Other than that, it's decent.

To think that it would ever happen that the Lincoln in the same category as the BMW would be the one to buy!

Its clearly a minivan/MPV - all it needs is sliding doors.

When can I get a Lincoln Aviator?
