2019 Lexus ES Images Slip Out Ahead Of Beijing Debut, Would You Consider This Over A Base LS?
Lexus just dropped official images of the next generation 2019 ES ahead of the Beijing Auto Show next week and it is easy to see that they borrowed heavily from the recently debuted LS.
This handsome redesign should no doubt attract new buyer to the brand, but it also leaves question about it cobbling up lower end LS sales. After all if it looks too much alike buyers might be inclined to save the cash and keep the look.
If you were considering a base Lexus LS and saw the ES sitting next to it on the floor, would you ponder the thought of saving some serious cash?

Somehow Lexus has dug down deep, gathered all their might and will and made the grill even more hideous.

I wish that all Toyota/Lexus designers regain their sight.

I think the 65+ group will continue to love it just like they love their Buicks.

"This handsome redesign should no doubt attract new buyer to the brand". Who is paying you to make this statement?
"Handsome redesign" - my ass. This is typical Lexus design language today. Atrociously overstyled front and rear. Atrociously mundane middle box. Between the A and C pillars, this could be any car on the road from the G80 to an Altima.
"no doubt attract new buyer(s) to the brand" - Well, since not a single Lexus sedan seems to be doing that today, well of course it makes sense that this new sedan will do the same.

Looks aside, I hope Lexus does not fall prey to what already affects the Germans: a) Evolutionary instead of revolutionary designs; and, b) Same recipe different sausage size. I am sure this car will sell (not like in the good old sedan days) based on their loyal fan base (reliability, smooth ride, etc.). There’s word that the new GS will be more of a four-door coupe. That should be interesting to see.

I differ and think it is outstanding and will sell well. Better than any Lincoln, Cadillac, Acura, or Audi.

it looks a lot like the Genesis G80 without the front valance. The greenhouse, shoulder line and rear 3/4 looks like a knockoff. Lexus use to copy German, now they are copying Korean design language.

I like it...but then again I think the new LS is a lot better than any LS model in the past
I like that Lexus finally woke up and is trying to create a unique aesthetic instead of trying to copy Mercedes et. al
