See The Fury: Polestar 1 Caught Performance Testing In Extreme Conditions
Last year, the reveal of the Polestar 1 hybrid coupe took us all by surprise. It looks stunning, has potent performance, and a respectable electric range. As debuts go, it should put Polestar on the map as a standalone automaker. Production of the Polestar 1 will commence at a new factory in China next year, but before then the electric performance hybrid will be making its Chinese public debut at the Beijing Auto Show next week, which runs from April 25 - May 4.

Volvo- is not a standalone Vehicle manufacturer - ANd I would suspect that most of the people HERE would know that - Why would anyone therefore say it as above?

In fact, Volvo is a Geely with a Volvo emblem.

In your mind, would it be accurate to say:
- Rolls-Royce is a BMW with a RR emblem
- Bentley is a Volkswagen with Bentley emblem
- Lamborghini is Volkswagen with Lamborghini emblem
- Porsche is a Volkswagen with Porsche emblem
- Cirrus is a CAIGA (China Aviation Industry General Aircraft) with a Cirrus emblem

Today's global reality is that there's a lot of cross-ownership going on. Sometimes it's detrimental (e.g., Fiat/Chrysler owning Maserati), and sometimes it's a big improvement (BMW's purchase of Rolls-Royce).

TheSTeve - In my post - I simply addressed a reality -Polestar is NOT a standalone manufacturer - which was said IN THAT Post. Polestar is part of Volvo - and both are principally owned by Geely.

Clearly a Rolls Royces Phantom is unlike any other BMW - but Rolls is still not a standalone - nor is Bentley - or Lambo- or Porsche. I do not consider this to necessarily a problem - being owned by another company. But the initial statement was incorrect - how can POLESTAR BE "ON THE MAP AS A STANDALONE MANUFACTURER" - without VOLVO?
