Porsche Powertrain Chief Arrested By German Police
German police have arrested Porsche's powertrain development chief, Joerg Kerner, in connection with parent Volkswagen Group's sweeping diesel emissions violations, sources said.

Kerner is being held on remand as he is seen as a flight risk, the sources said.

German daily Bild am Sonntag, citing an internal memo from Porsche CEO Oliver Blume to employees, said a manager had been arrested.

I find it hard to believe that some mechanics at local dealerships did not know that this was happening - although they would have had no involvement in the implementation - they would still be part of a coverup.

I doubt mechanics knew about this. If you’re going to do something like this you have to make sure as few people as possible know. It was probably only the top executives and top engineering staff that cooked this up along with their colleagues at Bosch.
