DRIVEN + VIDEO: If You Needed ANY Further Proof That The 2018 Rolls-Royce Phantom Is The ULTIMATE Luxury Vehicle, Look NO Further...
The experts used to say that you couldn't make a YouTube video longer than a couple minutes. There we were, crunching reviews into several minute bits.

And then, we had an idea: What if we did in-depth reviews or episodes? Who's to say they won't take off. Some succeeded and some floundered.

Then Doug DeMuro came along, as did many others, to essentially revolutionize the space. Love or hate Doug, the guy's videos are good. Having just met him at the 2018 New York Auto Show, I can attest to him being a seemingly good guy and definitely a gearhead. His first question to me after exchanging pleasantries was "What do you drive?"

If that doesn't define a car guy, I don't know what does.

That said, he recently spent 30-plus minutes roaming around the guts of the all-new Rolls-Royce Phantom and I reckon this is the most in-depth walkthrough and drive that we've seen yet. So, sit back and relax, Spies.

Doug De Muro is PAINFUL to listen to and when he finishes, you've learned nothing that you didn't already know. His mama's boy accent or whatever kind of speech impediment he has that makes him pronounce and inflect strangely is grating.

I felt the same way at first but I found myself still watching the clips in their entirety.

Long story short, he's doing something right if he's getting 1 million clicks in 24h.

Doug has an Eastern Pennsylvania / Central New Jersey accent - basically the same one Chris Christie has. It is grating.

Cardi B gets a million click a minute but there's nothing right about that train wreck.

It will make a nice used car for some rich person at 60% off $550,000 ($220K) in about 4 years.

If you want a last-gen Phantom, the launch of the new one will make those plummet.

https://www.rollsroyceofgreenwich.com/pre-owned-inventory.htm?make=Rolls-Royce&model=Phantoml make those plummet.

In a year, this lovely 2014 Phantom with 19,000 miles, currently on offer from RR Greenwich for $199,900, will be asking $145,000.

Then the poorly maintained and/or older ones will be in the $40,000 range and that 'Hoovies Garage' guy in Kansas will be buying one formerly owned by the Russian Mafia and the illegally re-imported to the US and post 10 videos on youtube saying how screwed he is.

A Rolls Royce - even older ones - are still a symbol of Wealth around the world. So much so that rich people do not have to have the latest one for the Chauffeur to drive! One only needs to look at the Limousine companies who have older Rolls Royces for Weddings.

A person who can afford the newest Phantom really does not care about depreciation of his trade in - often giving the car to other members of the family.

THe condition of the cars tell the story - the upper class maintains its cars faithfully inside and out - keeping them in literally spotless condition. Those that do not show that they really cannot afford to have one - or appreciate one.

ANd that person really and truly completely ignores the rantings of people who never will be able to afford a new one as well. Rants are simply an admission that you do not have the wherewithal to actually be a True Rolls Royce Owner.
