This car is covered with plastic fake fenders so you can't see what it looks like
Get over it

People it is a test car. Not how it is going to look like. But now that the A5 is being spied frequently that means that it will be out fairly soon.

Messy? The side panels have two flowing lines along the edges, à la 335i.
But yes, it doesn't look very Audi-ish because of the window shape. Usually, Audi window lines are half circles, but this one ends before the C-Pillar. However, thankfully, it doesn't make use of BMW's ubiquitous Hoffmeister kink.

agreed Audi has been bold with their designs, you see Audi design themes copied as much as BMW's

"And the rear looks like an Altima."
You think everything looks like an Altima! I can kind of understand the S-Class, but this? No way! Nowhere does it have any Altima traits!
The new Lexus LS looks like a Lexus- and that's not a good thing! For example, my wife is in love with the beautiful XJ8. When her car was in for a check-up (the RX), we went to the showroom and she sat in an LS430, and thought the inside was very pretty. We then went to the outside, I asked her how she thought it looked, and she frowned a bit and said, "It looks... like a Lexus." I responded, "Boring?" She nodded. I was considering an LS as long as we're looking at an XJ (remember- it's her car, not mine), but the Jag is just so much more distinctive, inside and out, I wouldn't be able to live with an LS... new or old.

Hopefully Audi puts some pizzazz into the production model...this test car looks quite boring (on purpose i'm sure).
I love audi, but if forced to choose between the A5 and the CLS, I would take the CLS.

my fault, sorry...with that long rear window line, it looked like a 4 door coupe

Just like many people thought that the R8 would come with plastic tape on the bottom of the doors and on the tail lights, the A5 won't look exactly like that. But if you take a look at some of the pchops of the spy shots you can get an idea of how it will look.

Here is the closest pchop of the A5 so far. This came out before the actual spy pics came out. (The white/black cars) This one is surprisingly good. Most likely based on information provided by Audi. They got the roofline before the spy shots.

It looks like Audi wants to make more cars. Does that mean they want to advance to become number one auto maker in the world.

Doesn't live upto the hype and expectations.Even if we remove the camo there will not be any striking design underneath.BTW agree with most of them here This thing looks very plain and Avenger like.
Hope this is not the new A5 test mule.

Ha! And all the Lex-lovers de-boosted you!
That's their special power. They go around and de-boost people ridiculously to like -7 or something. I'm sure they'll de-boost me as soon as I post this.

Even if it looks exactley like the concept (Nuvolari?) it still wouldn't be that nice. Like a big fat clumsy TT! IMO of course.
IMO Audi should have just made a proper fixed tintop version of the A4 Cab, it is IMO one of their best looking cars, and would have been a lot less of a gamble.

The normal A4 cabrio is getting long in the tooth (but not the S4, of course... (-; )
It lacks the stylistic distinction of the CLK or new 3 coupé. I applaud their move to more expressional styling for the new model.
However, what the A4 lacks, my car more than makes up for!

I really hope that 'dynamic line' that runs along either side of the car isnt for real. its not straight:
from the rear it curves down towards the front and then suddenly curves back up around the front wheels.I hate it! i wish they would make it a big curve in the production version like on all other audi models, but its most likey it would be like this.
And why does the window look like its a four door when it really has 2 doors?
strange......
