Nissan Group today announced total U.S. sales for April 2018 of 87,764 units, a decrease of 28% compared to the previous year.

Nissan highlights:

  • Nissan LEAF all-electric vehicle sales increased 10% to 1,171 units.

With its first full month of arriving at INFINITI retailers, the 2019 QX50, powered by the world’s first variable compression engine, contributed to the best April in the luxury crossover’s history, with 1,413 deliveries, up 18%.

Benefitting from the increased traffic that the QX50 brought into showrooms, the QX60 7-passenger luxury crossover also saw a large increase in April, up 9% to more than 3,000 deliveries.

In total, INFINITI reported deliveries of 8,960 vehicles in the U.S. during April, down 17%.

Well, there's only so much you dump into your fleet output, I suppose.

Indeed. The new Altima will do nothing to change the slide.

THis shows that the Nissan cars do not sell unless there is money on the hood. THe cars are now long in the tooth and are about to be replaced - just when sedans have stopped selling as well.

"...cars do not sell unless there is money on the hood...." Well, that's all the mainstream brands. Really? Who brags about paying the dealer's listed price for a new car? Honda, Toyota, Mazda, Chevy, etc.

Heck...the Honda dealers been running ads about trade-in deals on new sedans. A week after seeing those adverts, I start seeing dozens of new Honda's with the 30-day tags on the streets. Everybody's putting money on the hood to move units off the lots. Obviously some brands are offering more than others.
