WHICH Sports Cars Would YOU Like To Be Turned Into An SUV?
So, we've entered an all-new age in the automotive kingdom. While one could argue we've been skewing towards this new era for quite a bit, we're finally starting to see major adoption.

I am talking about the great shift towards sport-utility vehicles and trucks as buyer's primary option. Sedans may very well fall by the wayside. After seeing Ford take such significant action, it's safe to say anything's on the table right now.

And while we've seen all-new niches open up in the wonderful world of SUVs, I don't think we've seen the extent of what may actually be coming down the 'pike.

For example, we have it on good authority that a sports car will boast a four-door, SUV variant. This got me thinking.

While we do have high-performance SUVs, those aren't exactly the right form factor. Having said that, I am just a bit curious: WHICH sports cars do you want to see turned into SUVs?

A sports car is a completely different thing from an SUV.

A proper SUV has a Hatch in the back - and is basically a raised Station wagon - has FOUR doors - high ground clearance - and an automatic.

A proper Sports car has two doors - low ground clearance - likely a small trunk - has two doors - and either a Manual - or a dual clutch.

Now - you can make a body that looks like a sports car to put on a SUV chassis - but that is not making a sports car into an suv.

1,000 lbs of cinder blocks + wheelchair cushions on the seats for that oh-so-important ride height.

Ahh but you're wrong. Give the Mustang or Camaro a wagon roofline, some ride height, some black wheel arches and butch tires and you'd have both. Moreover, I think a MustangX or a CamaroCross would sell very well.

Porsche has basically pulled it off. A Mustang Crossover likely will out sell the Pony version.

The interesting thing is that Ford has toyed with a Mustang 4 door several times as well as a wagon. Add some wheelbase. Raise and lengthen the roof. Add some butch body cladding, but don't raise it for AWD it.
