Rolls Royce Debuts New Cullinan SUV, Will It Redefine The Segment?
Named Cullinan, the new car aims to be the pinnacle of SUVs, pushing the segment into a rarefied pricing arena not even entered by the rival Bentley Bentayga, which we first saw in 2015. Pricing for the new car is not yet available, but we estimate it will start at £250,000 in the UK and around $400,000 in the United States.

Rolls-Royce gave Autocar access to the car ahead of the unveil, giving us the chance to photograph the car in detail – join us for an exclusive tour…

Not sure how it would "redefine" the SUV segment. Will this cause other manufacturers to want to create $400K SUVs? Highly doubtful. Other ultra-high-end manufacturers are already building SUVs or plan to. Ferrari's SUV is planned for late 2019 and Lambo already showed us their Urus. McLaren? Bugatti?

Apparently it redefines the segment through utterly boring styling reminiscent of a Chrysler 300 wagon with a grille kit.

From the back it looks like a Mini on steroids.

I am sure the quality of materials and construction are top drawer but the styling is ho hum...was expecting more elegance. Auto owners generally are in awe of R-R cars but my gut tells me SUV owners will be less so. Sure we all will be curious who owns one of these but most of us I think will be more than happy to live with our own SUV's that better serve our daily needs.

The picture above is actually a very poor representation of the car the angle makes the vehicle seem much shorter and squarer than it is.

And of course - it does not redefine anything - it establishes its own segment.

THe other high priced ones are generally based on other Crossovers - or performance vehicles.

I don't know why Rolls insists on using the same damn door handles on every vehicle. I also seems suicide door on an SUV is just weird

I think it's handsome. (I know, I know — I would down vote myself if I could.) But it's perfect for its market.

It is exactly what their buyers would want and expect in a Rolls Royce high riding car/ SUV. It really could not look anything different in my mind. If they do a 2nd model, perhaps it can be more athletic and stylish for a Wraith customer. But this model is a reflection of the Phantom. Love it or hate it, it was what their customers want.
