Toyota's #1 challenge is to make EV affordable, 300 mile range, recharge as fast as a fill up, and no price penalty vs ICE. Cutting redundant cars--Toyota has a lot of them--would reduce expenses that would free up more money for research.

While never an auto CEO myself I have met one on one with over 100 CEO's and from this experience can attest that CEO's that are optimistic, sincere and project a vision of success that inspires his employees are far more successful than those that dwell on the downside to motivate the troops.

Lame boring cars can only take you so far. Toyota should only just make the Yaris and Priuses. Cheap micro cars are Toyota's future. A Japanese version of TATA motors so to say.
