Steal Of A Deal? BMW Dealer Offers 2 Year Lease On The i3 For Just $54 A Month
Mike Piccolo got a call from a friend about a deal on a new BMW with a price so cheap he thought it was a joke.

The 45-year-old financial adviser from Ramsey, N.J., thinks of himself as a car nut, and his buddy is the kind of guy who likes to trawl the Internet for car deals.

This one appeared on a website, Leasehackr, frequented by fellow bargain hunters: a two-year lease on a 2017 BMW i3, the luxury automaker's small electric car, for just $54 a month.

Man, at that price it's very tempting. Something tells me it isn't available here in the Seattle area. My local dealer only 3 used models, and no new ones. Cars.com shows 11 new models within 50 miles, but they're all 2018 models, so no super lease deals on those.

Title is misleading, the dealer didn’t offer this deal. This deal was possible after some extreme couponing efforts:
$2,000 loyalty credit
$500 discount with BMW that was available through his job
$7,500 federal EV tax credit
$2,000 in cash incentives
$1,000 discount for attending a BMW promotional event.

The federal tax credit doesn't apply to leases--BMW gets the money (California's $2,500 credit does apply to lessees on leases over 30mo).

does it matter how you get to 50 bucks a month for a new car lease when its not out of your pocket!! and an electric vehicle to boot so fuel costs are low!!

Kidding aside, these monthly lease figures are a joke. Sure, put down $20,000 and your monthly number will be lower, but only an idiot would do that.

The BMW i3 is still a clown car, even at $54/month.

BMW, Cheap lease or not -this thing is just ugly in every possible way. There is no one nice panel or part of this monstrosity that is appealing in any capacity whatsoever...
