Janice Perzigian has a unique evening routine.

But this one doesn't include drinking a glass of wine, taking a long soak in the bath and applying a facial mask.

It has to do with her car.

Dryer sheets go under the front seat and in the trunk. Spray made with essential oils is applied to the tires, the sides and the back.

Obviously - the experiences of a few disgruntled owners does not - a real scientific study make. YOu can SAY lots of things - but to prove this - you would need a real blind study of rats to find that they "prefer" soy based insulation. You would also need a MAJOR study as to how many cars had rodent damage - and if it was significantly increased after the soy introduction.

The fact is - over the years - lots of other cars were gnawed into - without the soy being there - so how could you prove that was the cause?. I would like to see statistics (since it is not warranty repair - they probably do not exist) - as to whether there is actually even an increased percent of this happening - which is still another thing we do not know. Still - damage such as this is generally disclaimed in most warranties as well. They make the owner responsible for protecting the vehicle from damage.

My Mini with soy based wiring has been chewed on a few times. Luckily I have caught it in time to prevent major damage.

"I spritz my Mustang with essential oils." What a snowflake wannabe hippie.

The fact is that rodents have chewed wires of all types. if you've ever restored an older car that had "barn time" it's had rodent time.
