ANOTHER Tesla AutoPilot FAIL? This Time Hitting A POLICE Car?

Autonomous technology should be outlawed until the technology matches the hype. Tesla needs to pay to have the police cruiser fixed.

I'm not a Tesla fan boy, but it sure seems like people automatically blame the company than the driver even though crap like this happens every day.

But other manufacturers vehicles don't do this, that's the issue. Tesla's system has an inherent defect in it.

As far as paying attention, why bother to have the system if a driver has to pay attention all the time. If that is the case turn it off and drive the vehicle. It's safer for everyone.

By - there has been enough information regarding the REQUIREMENT of a driver being prepared to take over in the case that the AutoPilot does something unusual that blaming the AutoPilot for these events is simply going too far most of the time. TESLA has indeed informed people of this requirement - and sine EVERY state that allows autonomous operation requires it as well on public roads - WHat I really believe is that Tesla should be better ONLY at sensing that the driver is not paying attention.

I am NOT a Tesla fan - but at least in this case - this is PEOPLE not in control of their own car - attempting to blame someone else - which is PAR for the course.
