And Just When You Thought Valet Service Couldn't Get ANY Worse, THIS Happens...
By this point I am sure that most of the folks who follow AutoSpies have heard of the horror stories associated with valet parking. From burnouts to cars being revved hard to cars catching on fire, if you can dream it up a valet attendant can make it happen.

But I am pretty sure no one expected this.

Although the cause is unknown at this time, a valet drove a Porsche 911 Cabriolet a bit recklessly. And when I say a bit, I mean VERY recklessly. This resulted in the 911 going under a Subaru Crosstrek.

Personally, I've never seen this before. Thankfully, for the pilot of the 911, he was not seriously injured although they had to be cut from the car.

Have YOU witnessed any valet shenanigans before? If so, what?

A hotel valet had a lucky escape — but the luxury sports car he was trying to park did not.

Australian media say the valet drove the soft-top Porsche Carrera under another vehicle Thursday outside the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Sydney.

Emergency workers cut the driver out from the Porsche as a crowd watched...

I never think "it couldn't get any worse," though I try not to focus on those possibilities. As for valets and leaving my keys with the attendant... no thanks. I don't trust strangers with my car.

Agree, if I had a car like that I wouldn't just hand the keys over too, they can do what they like with my Poxy Alfa though

I prefer to park my own car and walk, but that isn't possible in every venue.

There's a nice hotel in Monterey that we like, but a few times ago, our car was vandalized while in valet custody. The hotel acted like the valet company was 100% liable, yet the valet company is the only viable parking option.

The hotel manager told me that he would do nothing and that I could report it to insurance. The valet company said their security cameras were malfunctioning.

He changed his tune when he got hit with a lawsuit (valet too). I also went onto the hotel's social media and merely asked about the quality of the valet service and Pandora's box was open.

I now get to park my car. Lock my car. Keep the keys. And am not charged when we stay there. They also paid for all of the damages.

The flip side is that local valets have not been an issue.
