Porsche Releases First Teaser Of Upcoming Taycan
After announcing that the Mission E, Porsche’s first all-electric vehicle, is becoming the Taycan when going into production, the German automaker has now released the first teaser images of the upcoming all-electric sedan.

As we have been analyzing Porsche’s early marketing of the Mission E since the launch of the concept vehicle in 2015, we have been saying that the automaker seems to be positioning the vehicle as being a “real Porsche” and claiming that it is going to be the first electric vehicle to “have a soul.”

I died laughing when the video focused on the emblem. THAT is what people want. Put the emblem on an Up and people would buy it.

I'm curious to learn whether it'll be a game-changer, or an "also ran."

I predict game changer. The problem is that they are likely to price it in the stratosphere rather than pricing it for volume.

It's going to start at 85k. Not much more than a base Model S. Certainly not in the stratosphere.

Doubt Tesla sales will take a hit. There's room for both.

Legit question: Where did you get the $85K price?

Don't think the official prices have been announced yet ($75-85k is expected), but I would believe in true Porsche fashion the base model will be bare bones. $15-25k is going to be practically mandatory over base.

One checked box will immediately put it at $120k!

Gee - another UNPRONOUNCEABLE name from a VW brands - JUST what they need to further sales in the USA. Is it really that hard to come up with a name for a car that implies technology and leadership - rather than nonsense.

Question - How many people are going to call it "TAKEN"

The shape looks really interesting. Can't wait to see the final car and hope it lives up to the Mission E prototype.

My hope is that Porsche, Mercedes, BMW, and the rest don't get greedy and price themselves into oblivion. If they put up their own products with a range and price tag that's comparable to an equivalent Tesla, we'll have some serious EV traction, and a sweating Tesla.

Interesting times ahead.

Competition is a good thing, hope that is exactly what happens.
