Jeep Dealers Worried That Range Rover Competing Grand Wagoner Won't Sell Due To Gas Prices?
Jeep has not been shy regarding its planned Grand Wagoneer revival. Larger and more luxurious than the Grand Cherokee, the new Grand Wagoneer will be the brand’s future flagship SUV. There’s only one problem: it has still not debuted, and this is causing Jeep dealerships some justifiable concerns. According to Automotive News, some of these dealers are worried about rising gasoline prices and interest rates that will make the Grand Wagoneer more difficult to sell.

It will sell just fine. Buyers of vehicles in that price range can afford the gasoline.

The bigger problem will be if they try to price it near $100K like rumors suggest.

Indeed. It needs to be $40K base $47.5K Laredo and $60K with all things included.

Also, another issue they will have is the stronghold GM has on this segment. The new Expedition/Navigator is a vastly superior vehicle to the GM modes, but they have barely made a dent in sales numbers. The next gen of GM models to be released in 2019 or 2020 are rumored to be vastly improved.
The smarter move for FCA would have been to make the Wagoneer off of a extended GC platform to compete with the Mercedes GL. They should have then made a Ram branded BOF SUV to try to compete with GM/Ford.

No problem! the entire market is moving to SUV's and far from being saturated. Having the newest and different model will serve the dealers well.

For 100K I don't really want my D pillar to emulate a Kia Soul.

THe TITLE you gave to this thread mentions the Jeep Wagoneer competing with the Range Rover - it will not - they are not in the same Strata.

The fact is - Matt may be a little low - BUT the GW actually should be priced to compete with the GMC Vehicles of that size. IF it is much more - that will be a problem

Just do it! There are plenty of folks who’d love an American (Italian) answer to LR. LR has hideous repair costs and reliability. I wouldn’t even consider a LR, but the GC has always been a winner. This should have been a Sergio priority years ago..

This should he on the market already because it's a no-brainer. A new Grand Cherokee should be a priority before any other loser Alfa Romeo gets developed.

Even though Alfa is such a storied brand, one is love to own (if they’re well built, reliable, and capitalizes on heritage) one must generate $$$ to keep the ship afloat. Wasting $ on Alfa regardless of how interesting the line up might be, has been a huge mistake. In this market the GW has always been a no brainer. There is no time to waste, get it out there!
