The new Mercedes A-class is to get some serious performance cred come early next year, with the next-generation A45 bound to jump right to the top of the hot hatch power ladder. A replacement for AMG’s rapid hatchback has never been in doubt, but with the current car often criticised for its sterile handling, AMG will be hoping this new model will be able to address this, while also usurping the Audi RS3 as the fastest, and most powerful, hot hatch on sale.

This A Class will be a game changer for Benz/industry, the fact that the least expensive model in their lineup, will have the most superior technology in the line up upon launch including hand me downs from the S and E makes this the most generous Benz in history.

The “Hey Mercedes” tech will be a homerun with millennials. Gotta say, Benz is killing it.

A recent review by CarWow (youtube) indicates that there will still be criticism for some cheap bits in the interior. The control stalks, center armrest, and center stack were all cited for cheap materials or what appeared to be sketchy build quality. Maybe Mercedes can remedy these for the CLA and A-Sedan.

Again, when we discuss these cars we have to remember their target market, the demographic the A class is aimed at isn’t looking for the best fit and finish, they want connectivity and instagram friendly design cues.

As far as MB’s “ugly styling” goes as stated above, I guess that means the world is blind considering they are the best sellling luxury brand...hmmmm
