Volkswagen Debuts a 400 HP R GTI For SEMA
The VW GTI gets a bigger turbocharger to pump out 400 horsepower on 100-octane race fuel, with 375 horsepower available on tap on 93 octane pump gas. The car is finished in all black and features many modifications. Overall the design remains clean yet is very aggressive and sporty. Performance is also plenty, with 0-60 run accomplished in only 4.8 seconds.

4.8 for 0-60. Is that a conservative number? Seems like with that hp it is able to go faster.

Most likely. They also said that the numbers were put down just as the car was finished, with no actual development.
