DRIVEN: 2018 Mercedes-AMG S63 Cabriolet, Who Knew 4800Lbs Could Be So Much Fun?
When most people think of supercars, they picture a mid-engine affair, stamped with the image of a horse or a bull up front. Stiff, hardcore Italian cars used to define supercar-level performance, but in 2018, even large luxury convertibles such as the new S63 AMG can match what (just a few short years ago) would have been supercar speeds. I know what you may be saying at this point, "a 4,817 pound convertible can't be a supercar!" Well, this 4,817-pound convertible can do 0-60 mph in just 3.3 seconds. Do I have your attention now?

Unfortunately my recent 39 month lease experience with an S Class and the dealership has turned me completely off to the brand. With business so good M-B cares little about treating one customer poorly. Will spend the summer looking for a brand, model and dealership that hopefully deserves my hard earned dollars.

Head over to your BMW retailer. In NYC, they really are a class act. They will put you in a 7-Series and make you very happy.

If you're not too nose-uppity get a Genesis G90 and enjoy the ride.

I have had several BAD experiences with uppity Mercedes dealers - going back a long time (Over 50 years) - and for a long time I only bought from an independent dealer reasonably close to me - long time family owned - with a great service department. ALAS - the family is gone and it was sold to the big NJ dealer family. THEY are really really bad for the most part.

The Service manager from that dealership (Second generation) still operates in independent MB garage - and he and his people know their stuff. The MB dealer I now use is quite a ways away from here - but at least they are still family owned and operated. AS I have said in the past - looking for a good dealership may be just as important as buying the car - and getting the "BEST" deal may not be the right way to go (ALthough MATT is likely to argue).

it's absolutely asinine to believe and accept that you cannot get a good deal and have good service at the same dealer.

I must say, unfortunately I’ve had couple poor experiences with MB dealers in the past, the thing is I too searched other brands, found some that were faster, some with more tech, some more exclusive, however none of them put it all together quite like Benz and unfortunately their sales people know it.

Sure the lower end models are vulnerable to cross shopping, but the E class on up is where Benz steps into their sweet spot and few package everything together like them.

The local Benz dealer is known for excellent customer satisfaction.

This "Sorry, 0-60 does not make a performance car." is solely your opinion and not a universal truth.

Colecole - please reserve judgement until you have driven this car - it is really one of the best ones out there for the money.

It's a German Lincoln Mark VIII or a German Buick Riviera. Old people with money who live in Boca Raton retirement villages love it.

I'd like to drive it. I would definitely not want to own it.
