Ready For 10 Year Auto Loans? Trump Tariffs Could Add $5800 To The Price Of Your Next Car
An automotive trade group said on Tuesday it would tell the Trump administration that a U.S. threat to impose a tariff of up to 25 percent on imported passenger vehicles under national security grounds would cost American consumers $45 billion annually, or $5,800 per vehicle.

The Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers, a group representing General Motors Co, Toyota Motor Corp , Volkswagen AG and other major automakers, will file written comments with the U.S. Commerce Department later this week, spokeswoman Gloria Bergquist said.

Completely agree. The Chinese FORCE any company doing business in China to set up a JV with a Chinese company and share their technology. This "gives" the Chinese company dramatic advances (apart from what they don’t outright steal) in all areas of mfg. If a company doesn't want the JV then huge tariffs are place on their products which price them out of a realistic ability to compete. So, if one wants access to the Chinese market then companies must play by their rules as outrageous as they are. EVERY nation protects their own industries to ensure employment and a tax base. Why America should allow others to rape us and invade our borders, is only realistic in the twisted minds of Lib-tards, Liberal-Guilt, Socialists, and other lazy, America haters... To say Trump is clueless when one looks at his resume compared to Hitlary and Barry Soetoro is laughable... Compare any resume to his and one will hear nothing except name calling. Cowards… If one used similar words towards Barry or Mrs. Clinton that person would be labeled a racist, "anti-woman", hate speech, the pathetic list of “tolerance” is endless. Lib-Creeps make up crap that applies to others when, as in the case of the Clintstones, they always accuse others of what they themselves are doing. Gotta love her arrogant, narcissistic words, “anyone that doesn’t accept the outcome of this election is not a patriot”. https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=anyone+who+doesn%27t+accept+the+election&&view=detail&mid=B359A5576A079D8EDAFCB359A5576A079D8EDAFC&rvsmid=031F0E9D722DD1025857031F0E9D722DD1025857&FORM=VDQVAP

Get a grip seriously. Trumps bankruptcies were corporate NOT PERSONAL. Not every business succeeds and bankruptcy is a tool to protect the entrepreneur whom otherwise would not of invested time and money creating a business that employees other peeps or would make them personally liable for the corp which by law is its own individual. Without this protective covenant NOBODY would ever start a business and we would all be working for the government.

Judging by your severe Trump derangement syndrome and endless need to Trump bash I'm going to wager that you are a civil servant. This would explain your Libtard hatred of anything GOP and your ability to comment endlessly all hours of the day when you should be working while my hard earned taxes pay for your bloated salary, excessive benefits, unfair and unsustainable pension. That makes you a "TAKER" and not a "MAKER" and it is the makers in this world that create the vast majority of employment and not big business or big government.

BTW show me a billionaire (and I personally now 2 of them) and I will show you someone who has been BK a couple times over. Not every business succeeds but you never stop trying until you do. Trump took $200M from Daddy and turned it into a multi billion dollar empire. Not all the ventures were successful but enough were and give me an actor or a successful business man any time over any community organizer, lawyer or politician everyday and thank god we elected Ford in Ontario as there is now hope for this shithole too.

I am a serial entrepreneur and have had six figure profit days. I have also been homeless because of business failure and shitty/crooked partners. I have also gone without food so my employees could put food on their table. These are the sacrifices one must make to be a successful entrepreneur. This is the real cost of success that non entrepreurs can't begin to comprehend nor do they have the fucking right to comment or judge the ones who have.

Indeed @qwertyfla1

@CC it's actually sometimes financially beneficial for a business to go bankrupt. If you know how to do it creatively, you can make money through bankruptcy.I speak from experience and thank Obama for providing the gift of public funds.

Trump has no grasp on the complexity of global trade. He needs to go back to borrowing money from Russian gangsters to buy buildings for them with his name on them and pretend to be a billionaire. SAD.

YOU have no clue about anything. Trump is a globally successful business person, and at the very least successful in NYC which is intense. He did what so many others have failed to do, get elected President. What do YOU do besides sit around in your underwear mouthing off with your ignorance...SAD.

Trump is a showman and has a 6-time bankrupt record. Sorry to burst your bubble X-JUG.

Trump’s companies have filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, which means a company can remain in business while wiping away many of its debts. The bankruptcy court ultimately approves a corporate budget and a plan to repay remaining debts; often shareholders lose much of their equity.

Trump’s Taj Mahal opened in April 1990 in Atlantic City, but six months later, “defaulted on interest payments to bondholders as his finances went into a tailspin,” The Washington Post’s Robert O’Harrow found. In July 1991, Trump’s Taj Mahal filed for bankruptcy. He could not keep up with debts on two other Atlantic City casinos, and those two properties declared bankruptcy in 1992. A fourth property, the Plaza Hotel in New York, declared bankruptcy in 1992 after amassing debt.

PolitiFact uncovered two more bankruptcies filed after 1992, totaling six. Trump Hotels and Casinos Resorts filed for bankruptcy again in 2004, after accruing about $1.8 billion in debt. Trump Entertainment Resorts also declared bankruptcy in 2009, after being hit hard during the 2008 recession.

Why the discrepancy? Perhaps this will give us an idea: Trump told Washington Post reporters that he counted the first three bankruptcies as just one.

xjug1987a, Trump is hardly a successful businessman. According to two separate analysis, he would have more money today if he just ran the real estate empire daddy gave him as it was. he instead ran it into the ground due to his ego and lack of, um, business sense.
Remember, he has declared bankruptcy twice and refused to pay small businesses for their services. No US banks will loan him money so Deutsche-Bank has arranged to have have Russians and Saudis funnel him money through their wealth management arm. He does not own most of the buildings with his name on them. he is mostly the front man. His real net worth is south of $800 million and he is deeply in debt.
Want a resume, John Kasich from Ohio was chairman of the senate finance committee the last time we had a balance budget, he was succesful in the private sector at Fidelity and is a successful governor of Ohio and is respected by both parties.
Romney also a successful governor, successful head of a private equity firm and respected everywhere.
I could go on and on with people better suited to be presented, but typing 250 million names takes too much time.

I"m originally from Ohio, JK is a good guy but will never be President, but thanks for picking another Republican vs a DemoCrap. JK has become more of a Social Liberal/Moderat - Economic Moderate than conservative too. Romney couldn't beat a community organizer who never did a thing in his life before he somehow elevated to high office... though I like Romney and he would make a good President, he's not a strong conservative.

@Truthy: You're wasting your breath on the Daffy Devotees.

Fun facts for the day:

1) Donald J. Trump was born into wealth. He inherited his fortune. He did not earn it.

2) Through "shrewd" investment, Donny increased his wealth. By comparison, if he had taken his inheritance, put in in The Dow or NASDAQ, and did nothing but eat Cheetos on the couch and watch Faux News, he'd have TWICE as much money now as he does now.

3) Daffy Devotees call this "being a savvy businessman."

Daffies hate fact. Especially those that don't support their worldview.

Also, any news that is not flattering him is called "fake news."

DumbDonald won't be in office long enough to make another fake appointment. Remeber, the senate under Herr Mitch abrogated their constitutional duty to fill out the Supreme Court, which allowed them to put in the paid for guy they have now. This has allowed the court to say outrageous gerrymandering in favor of Republicans is okay. The Founding Fathers are spinning in their graves.

I am not angry and I doubt TheSteve is either. Rather I feel soryy for you as you have no idea what damage DumbDonald is doing to our country.

By the way xjug1987d, have you seen a Trump rally? All he does is yell and scream and spit bile. He hates anyone who does not kiss his ass, which helps explain you.

For the middle and lower classes - they already cannot afford a new car.

@MDarringer: You are a bit late to the party with the car nexus comment. If I remember, it was the Trump supporters who started to insert political opinions into the comments as well as throwing epithets (which grow increasingly imaginative and funny) at liberals. If we are going to turn the comments section back to cars, which I think would be a good idea and might broaden participation beyond the dozen regulars, the Agents are going to have to start policing. Problem is, the Agents are also conservative Republicans and they rather like the 4:1 conservative bias in the comments. Therefore, we are going to have to put up with this bovine manure for a long, long time.

The problem is that those people (1) aren't interested in cars as much as they are interested in disrespecting people who are conservative, (2) shouting rather than conversing, (3) are utterly incapable of decorum or discussing facts because drama and histrionics is what they do, (4) utterly deaf to logic because they would have to risk being wrong, (5)...
