Fiat's Future In US May Be Doomed - Sales Down 44% This Year Alone

It's no secret that Fiat hasn't been doing so hot selling cars in the U.S. lately. According to CNNMoney, the Italian brand's sales have declined a whopping 44 percent this year, throwing the entire brand's mere existence in the American market into question.

For more perspective into just how few cars Fiat is selling these days, in the first half of 2018, the brand only moved a third of the cars that it did during the first half of 2014, according to CNN. Taking a peek at parent company Fiat Chrysler's most recent monthly sales report, Fiat sales fell 36 percent, selling just 1,426 cars in June.

And Audi sold 50 A8s in the USA last month too. THere are a number of cars from many manufacturers that you have to question whether it is worth the money for them to produce an American version - ESPECIALLY NOW - with the high Tariffs on these cars.

Fiat never actually produced a car for the US market - the Little 500 is an unreliable too small for the price car- that only would have worked if it had Style - which is does not have. They tried with celebrities to make the car a cute car - but we do not have the history here in the USA for it to be RETRO as it sells in Europe. ANd in the USA - very small foreign cars are simply not selling well.

Fiat globally is a loser brand. The only reason it stays open is keep factories running to cover part of its legacy costs.

There will aways be a Fiat because Italian socialists will prop it up even if it loses money.

Fiat is doing poorly.

Maserati is doing poorly.

Alfa Romeo is doing poorly.

Go home Fiat and let Hyundai-Kia be the knight in shining armor.

Didn't need a crystal ball to predict this.

Indeed. In fact it would not surprise me to see Alfa-Romeo and Maserati go home too. FCA is back-flowing money to those dealers to keep them from going belly up.

Hey, I know where you can get a brand-new 2017 Ghibli for $30K off.
