Volvo Reports a 3.6% Decrease in US Sales for October

Volvo Cars of North America, LLC (VCNA) announces sales of 8,395 units for October, representing decrease of 3.6 percent compared to the same period last year.

Overall, Volvo sales in North America (United States, including Puerto Rico, Canada and Mexico) were 9,200 units – down 7.4 percent for the month. Volvo Canada sales were 588 units and 217 units were sold at Volvo in Mexico.

Isuzu became smeared with hersheys after the GM took control of their marketing strategies.

Mazda is shedding away from the Ford. I remember Ford owned, approximately 23% of the stake in Mazda. However, it could be as low as 1/2 of that now..Good job, Mazda.

Jaguar on the otherhand was completely bought out by the Ford and has been bleeding red since the day one to now! Only thing Ford has done was to copy a Jaguar into Tauraus/Sable and took all the design credits as Jaguar had absolutely nothing to do w/Tauarus's design.

In the case of Volvo, profit dipped after losing its truck sales in China as far as I know.

The only cars Ford had major influence in designing/creating where the S40/V50, new C70, and the upcoming C30. The rest of the lineup was primarily designed & created before Ford bought Volvo.

Ford uses the S80 platform with both the Ford 500 and the XC90. I'm sure there are others as well.

Volvo really needs some new models. The S60, V70 is due for a redesign. I doubt the C30 will do brisk business in the US. The C30, S40, V50 are all too small to demand the retail price. I think most Volvos are priced a few thousand too high when comparing to the immidate competiton. I think Volvos Sales numbers are pretty good considering the age of thier product line.

Same has happened with Saab and GM, except it's much more extreme with Saab...

Volvo is a bit well off, though. They have very distinctive styling.
