Audi Demonstrates How The New E-Tron Quattro's Virtual Mirrors Will Work
Tesla tried it with the Model X, but it was too ahead of its time and the automaker ended up dropping the idea.

Now Audi is giving it a shot and plans to introduce the first “virtual mirrors” by replacing the side view mirrors with cameras.

They released a short video about how it works.

Different versions of that technology have been around for over a decade, but it was never deemed reliable enough despite the significant increase in electronics quality.

I thought the car was going to drive itself - in that case - why would a computer need mirrors or their equivalent in screen - feed the computer the data directly.

A center mirror that uses this technology is particularly useful, as it doesn't care who's in the back seats (if there are any), how narrow the rear window is, or if buttresses obscure part of your view, etc.

I'm waiting for this technology to replace the mirror in my bathroom.

With the speed of our legislature in the US, this feature should be available in 37 years.

So what happens when Audi's glitchy electronics fail and you have no mirrors? The car is then illegal to drive? This reinvents something that is elegantly simple to begin with. It's typical idiotic German engineering i.e. to design something because it can be designed, but not because it gives any substantive advantage.

It's like watching a car wreck. I just can't stop reading your idiotic comments expressing a world view which you surely cultivated at some jack-off community college in East Bumblef*ck.

Good comeback, community college man. How does a guy who is clearly as uneducated as you are, and who has never traveled, lived or worked in another country think he's the smartest guy in the room?

Your abilities at prestidigitation are sorely lacking.

(1) I'm better educated than you are.
(2) Granted I've not been to every country on the planet, but I have traveled, most recently to the UK.
(3) Why would I want to live and work in another country when I'm making bank here?

Because you cannot disengage from me, that suggests:
(1) You know who the alpha is, so you play the role of the ankle-biting Chihuahua, but all you really achieve is getting into a pissing contest with an empty bladder. #HydrationIsKey
and/or
(2) Due to your inadequacies, phobias, and neuroses, you have to trash someone who is much better than you are in an attempt to make yourself feel better.

Seek therapy. Jesus, our Lord, God, and Savior supports you.

I send you my heartfelt love and sincerest wishes for your speedy recovery.

Namaste
