[UPDATED] Will Tesla LOSE Loyal Customers Now That It's Been Discovered That Elon Musk Is A BIG Republican Donor?
In a series of peculiar events, it seems as though things are getting interesting tonight. That's because more news is breaking about, you guessed it, Tesla.

According to reports, Tesla's Elon Musk donates to political organizations. No surprise there, really. What billionaire doesn't? But, as with most things in life, there's a catch.

That's because Musk donated nearly $34,000 to a Protect the House, a Super PAC looking to keep Republican control of congress. The donation was made just last month, on June 5.

While we at AutoSpies have our own political beliefs, and are definitely on the side of folks having their say and spending their own hard-earned dollars as they please, it seems that's not the case of Tesla fanboys/fangirls. Many Tesla forum members are not too pleased about this news. In fact, they're pretty pissed from the sounds of it.

One forum user writes:

My wife just asked me to sell both of our Tesla's because of this. And cancel my 3rd reservation.

Alrighty then.

So, we've got to ask, Spies: Is Tesla's loyal fanbase going to crumble now that it's been discovered that Musk is a BIG Republican donor? What say you?

[UPDATE] Musk has responded via Twitter proclaiming that all reports of him being a top donor to the GOP are "categorically false."

Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk donated $33k to Protect the House, a Super PAC working to maintain Republican control of Congress.

The committee, according to a ProPublica report, raised $8.6 in Q2 of 2018 for Republican incumbents in Congress looking to stave off Democratic challenges.

ProPublica also provided an itemied list of the top donors, which include some of the usual suspects: Sheldon Adelson, the billionaire Republican mega-donor, and Robert McNair, owner of the Houston Texans...

Elon, the worse thing you can do to your reputation is a lie. Tell the truth that you made a Republican donation and stop. I (We) believe less than 1% of Republicans have bought your products.
Now, how many Americans have bought your product >200K worldwide? You know [Trump] is a pathetic liar and con man because he is white [white] Americans will believe anything as long as the man is white.

Why don't you morons move to Venezuela socialist paradise?

If it offends you, sure you can cancel your order and never buy from them again. If you step back, you will learn in the USA many corporations play both sides of the fence and donate to both parties. You never know who will win and you want to be able to ask for favors no matter the outcome. In Canada, corporations are not allowed to contribute to political campaigns and private individuals are limited to just $1,550.00 CAD a year. Rich or poor, you can contribute a tiny bit of money to a party, your time to help a campaign and your vote. That's all. The Government that is elected is therefore beholden to voters, not corporate donors.

Moving to Canada seems to be a national pastime in the USA whenever there is a Presidential election. The folks who wanted to move if Trump became POTUS would have to get in line behind those who were moving because Obama won, Bush, Clinton, Bush and Reagan etc...

I saw a lot of blood in the streets this morning when I got up. Naturally, feeling mildly concerned, I investigated. I saw numerous people with exploded heads. Being the forensic expert I am, I sniffed the blood and could smell a familiar stench. It was Alt-Left blood and the people's heads clearly exploded and they bled out. Several people had their Priui loaded up Dust Bowl style with signs on them saying "Canada or bust" but they are assholes and all assholes either go to Canada or they say they are.

Disgusted by the spectacle, I knew I needed to wash down the road in front of my house before the kids arose, but not wanting to waste municipal water, I washed it down by other means. #hydration.

Complaining about your religion as being incoherent again Matt?

I said NOTHING that is not true - religion is based on Deluded belief - not truth. YOu cannot prove the existence of any god - and the majority of the people of the earth DO NOT accept the statement that the Christ is OUR anything real - so when YOU make religious statements - stick with the FACTS you can prove are true - that would be NONE. Religious nonsense does not belong in this group - leave it for the weak minded idiots who waste their money - like you.

@TomM

Look up the word "incoherent" because your response to me was incoherent.

Then look up the words "bigoted" and "intolerant" because your response to me wishing you well was both bigoted and intolerant and bordered on hate speech.

Moreover, you're not bright enough to see that I set you up with bait and you fell for it hook, line, and sinker and in the process outed yourself as someone who hates and mocks people of faith.

I had a feeling you're one of anti-religious bigots, so I turned it over to The Lord and Satan danced on your tongue.

I am neither Bigoted NOT intolerant -nor am I incoherent either - YOU are simply too stupid to understand. I am just a realist. It is you who needs to keep away from the LSD and drugs - I do not even drink alcohol.

There are NO GODS - religion is the biggest ponzi scheme in the world and only those who were indoctrinated with the nonsense still believe it. WE can actually prove that one USING THE METHOD in the bible. Go ahead try it 1 Kings 18-25. Religon has been the cause of more war and loss of life than all other reasons - and it deserves to be waning - which it is.

Of course - there are people who still -believe in Santa Claus - and that is YOUR right to believe in the delusions of religious nonsense - but WHEN you use the word "OUR" - the word does not apply- the Christ is YOUR delusion - use the word MY.

Of course - you can prove me wrong -by having your god appear and prove himself - funny they NEVER do that one.

You reject people of faith, so that alone makes you bigoted and intolerant.

Actually - the People of the USA are steadily becoming more liberal. The days of the conservative movement started with Nixon - and is now waning - and the cycle moves to the Liberal side - https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2016/01/why-america...left/419112/

One of the reasons why we are becoming more liberal is the coming extinction of religion - which is rapidly going extinct in many major western countries. Religious people tend to be more conservative.

THE other reason is the rise of the woman in politics and demand for equality for women - something most religions are against. Women tend to be more open minded and liberal.

@TomM You'd better do some research before spewing your usual bullsh!t. Latino and Black voters are openly making it known that the Democrats have done nothing for them.

The Democrat Party is becoming more and more fascist-socialist and more unhinged, violent, and angry and it is causing people to say they don't want any part of the sh!t storm and they are leaving.

This is pretty hilarious, especially the jerk who is selling his Teslas in protest. Buying a car brand on the basis of political views has to be the dumbest method of shopping I can imagine. Does this jerk also check out who runs the companies he buys his groceries and toothpaste from? Does prove that Tesla buyers are often complete jerks. And also welfare queens.

Apparently, Republicans nowadays think that if you're not a conservative then you must be a socialist. I think most people don't identify with the right really because they're not assholes or racists.

BTW, conservatives boycott products all the time, so how is so different when the liberals do it? If you're a conservative, shouldn't you respect the freedom of people to do as they want, much like how you are with guns? Hence, there is absolutely nothing wrong with not buying a product because its founder is not in line with one's political beliefs.

Religion is also a joke, completely made up by men much like Zeus, Cthulhu, etc. Keep praying to your little wooden man on the cross, how's that working out for you? HA!
