Why Would Tesla Be Stockpiling Model 3 Production All Across California?

Parking lots full of Tesla Model 3 vehicles have been spotted around California in the past few days and Tesla naysayers and shorts are framing the discoveries as the automaker stockpiling vehicles due to a lack of demand. Tesla owns or leases several facilities near its Fremont factory in the Bay Area as part of its expansion plans to eventually support the production of 500,000 vehicles per year at the factory.

One of those facilities is in Lathrop.

In the parking lot of the building, a large number of Model 3 vehicles (estimated at around 2,000) have been spotted this week.

Could it be that some have such egregious quality failures that they are unsellable?

Could it be that supply did not mesh with the speed up of production and cars are waiting for components?

Are people who wanted $35K Model 3s not doubling their outlay and are waiting?

Could it be that demand of the Model 3 really isn't there to support 20K units a month?

Because if none of what I said is true, then there would be no storage of product.

But you counter, "Those are awaiting export."

Let's go down that path.

So you're an American customer who has waited two years for a Model 3 and Elon ships several thousand overseas making you wait longer.

If that's the case, we have one more illustration of Elon being disreputable.

Yes Matt is definitely "right" - ALt Right to be specific - and since we do not know why they are being stored - for how long as well - unless Matt has some source of that information which he has yet to identify - all he has said is speculation

EVERYONE is speculating here, dumbass. That was the purpose of the post i.e. to speculate about it.

But, even if someone gave you facts, you would dismiss and ignore them unless you agreed with them because to you, your opinions are your facts.

Ramping Up Production has a Side effect - -Unless you similarly ramp up your delivery process - it means that you have an inventory of Cars waiting to be put onto trucks for delivery. Remembering that this month included the fourth of July - and is the favorite for vacations in the Summer - the lack of available trucks is certainly probable for a short while

However - 2000 cars is about 2 days production- not such a great number

Matt is again showing his ALzheimers

WE have no reason to believe your "speculation" is normally correct - after all - of it was - you would already be driving your TVR - and they are not even in production yet. YOu completely ignore lots of CLUNKERS of your predictions.

And of course - claiming you are usually right is the mark of a true ALt Right EGOTIST - which is what I said you are.

So here's the question. When the NUMMI plant is capable of a much higher volume than Tesla can imagine. Why did #ElectricTrump put a circus tent up to build cars. He has plenty production space and a lot that is going unused.

Md is not an idiot

HE is a very SICK man - Alzheimers is a long term debilitating disease - and I thing we ALL wish him the best with it.

At the same time - we can look at his responses based on the dementia - and learn to ignore things he says

@TomM Once again, you're a liar and a hypocrite. If you're ignoring me, why are you talking about me? Ignoring me would mean keeping your trap shut. Bet hey, go ahead and spew as you are wont to spew because you couldn't deliver an insult if you tried.

There is a massive shortage of firetrucks that are available to be crashed into before Tesla can release these units ;-) Happy Friday!

When it was making 2,000 cars per week, Tesla was able to use parking lots around the factory as loading areas to ship out the cars.

It had to expand to other lots as the production rate increased and it recently spiked to 7,000 vehicles per week with the recent 5,000 Model 3’s in a week milestone.

Therefore, it’s normal that Tesla has new parking lots for vehicles in transit.

Tesla had already warned that with the production ramp doing better, the delivery process would become the bottleneck and that has an impact on cars in transit since only so many cars can sit in the parking lots at Tesla’s stores awaiting delivery.

In case you haven't noticed from all the stories about it, a huge chunk of parking lot is now a circus tent where they are manufacturing cars. Real estate is also insanely expensive in the Bay Area, so it would make sense to use large parking lots 70 miles away for storage before transporting the cars to their final destination.

Occam's razor . . . the cars were stored to avoid busting the 200,000 limit in June. Now Tesla has the $7,500 Federal Tax credit for all of Q3 and Q4.
