Lexus Dealerships Are The Most Liked Of All For 2018

After spending a year out of the top spot, Lexus once again is the most-liked automaker by dealers who responded to the most recent National Automobile Dealers Association Dealer Attitude Survey.

The luxury brand finished ahead of its mainstream sibling, Toyota, in the winter 2018 survey, the results of which were released Monday. Lexus had been runner-up to Toyota in the previous two surveys, conducted in winter and summer of 2017. Prior to the 2017 surveys, Lexus spent several years atop the ranking.

Too bad it is not translating into increased sales. They do have a stronghold with the RX but that is about it.

The attention to customers at a Lexus dealer is how you might imagine being coddled by Rolls Royce. Recently, my wife got an oil change on her Lexus while at work. The fetched the car, parked a loaner in the same spot, gave her the keys, took care of it, and brought it back. Painless with minimal interruption to her busy day.

However - that " Retail Consumer " satisfaction is NOT what this POLL was about - it was about which AUTO COMPANY DEALERS preferred to deal with. A simple read of the above - or the article - would have noted that. Again - as we have noted in the past - Matt does not actually READ well anymore.

Since I doubt his wife's experience with Lexus is on the Dealership OWNER level - his and most of the comments here - about personal experience at the consumer level - are simply NOT relevant.

The inaccurate mutterings of the old fool--that lies about ignoring me and then responds to everything I say--aside, the manufacturer's attitude toward the dealers and the CUSTOMERS is vitally important to this metric.

What Tommy VonAricept doesn't understand is that the dealer is in the middle between the customer and the manufacturer. That puts the customer experience out there as a major factor.

If the manufacturer is a drama queen about approving warranty work (VW, Nissan, Mitsubishi) customers hate the dealer that has to give the bad news. This in turn causes rage between the dealer and the manufacturer.

However, if the manufacturer is benevolent toward warranty work (Lexus, Mercedes-Benz, Toyota) the customer thinks the dealer and the brand is amazeballz and the dealer tends to be positive in its attitude about the manufacturer.

The NX and ES are selling credibly. The truly horrible GX sells acceptably as well.

Don't care how nice the dealership is, still can't drive any vehicle that has that hideous lexus front.
