Acura RDX Vs. Infiniti QX50 - Which Is The Better Crossover For YOU?
The 2019 Acura RDX and 2019 Infiniti QX50 are both brand new, and as we explained during our first drives with them both, they're really good. In the past, these two weren’t even considerations along the Audi Q5 and BMW X3, but now there's serious reason to choose them over the German powerhouses.

They both have new bones, loads of tech, and turbocharged engines that help transform them from nearly forgotten options to serious contenders. But which one is better?

Acura wins on outside appearance
Infiniti wins on interior appearance. The Acura is horrible looking.
I'd go with Honda quality over Nissan "quality" any day of the week.

The RDX has it all over this QX50 in every aspect. Exterior has more character and looks aggressive. The interior is worlds better. The exterior of the QX50 is rather anonymous (though, admittedly it is "elegant"). The interior is an absolute dud. Same layout as Infiniti has had for years, just masked with some fancy dress work that doesn't do such a good job of masking it. Same exact layout and essentially the same instrumentation of the very aged Q50 with fancier materials.

The Honda RDX is too sci-fi looking.

there is no reason to choose either of these given the plethora of makes and models.

I will share with you my impression of several vehicles in this segment as I drove nearly all of them before purchasing the new 2019 RDX AWD-Tech a couple weeks ago.

From an exterior design perspective, here is my order:

1. Jaguar F-Pace
2. Acura RDX
3. BMW X3
4. Audi Q5 (note I normally think Audis look nice but the Q5 feels like it was cut off to early in the rear)
5. Infiniti Q50

Performance/Drivability
1. BMW X3
2. Jaguar F-Pace (I drove the new 2018 engine model that is near 300 HP)
3. Acura RDX
4. Audi Q5
5. Infiniti Q50

Interior/Features/Tech
1. Acura RDX
2. Audi Q5
3. Infiniti Q50
4. BMW X3
5. Jaguar F-Pace

Space/Roominess (the RDX had a clear advantage and the rest were really bunched up)
1. Acura RDX
2. Infiniti Q50
3. Jaguar F-Pace
4. BMW X3
5. Audi Q5

Value:
1. Acura RDX
2. Infiniti Q50
3. Jaguar F-Pace
4. BMW X3
5. Audi Q5

Overall the RDX won in the most categories and is the best Acura vehicle built since the 2004 TL came out. I almost bought an F-Pace just because of its beauty and could have gotten a steal on a model that only had 5,000 miles on it, but I was worried about Jaguar's track record of reliability. Also, I did not even consider the Lexus RX or NX simply due to the poor exterior design. I also did not consider the Volvo X60 as I think its a nice looking car but I value performance more than luxury/comfort and what I have read is the Volvo focuses more on the latter.

Note sure how to edit my prior post but it should have read Infiniti QX50 just in case anyone wondered.

Wow very nice post bnilhome. It's nice to see someone on here actually post something other than one line nasty comments.

The only choices I would consider in this category are the Benz GLC, Acura RDX, and Volvo XC60. Jag F-Pace and Alfa Stelvio need to work on reliability before I'd even consider them.

I am not a crossover person at all
When I wanted something to carry things - I first bought Station Wagons - and then Mini-vans.
If I wanted a 4x4 - I bought a TRUCK based one. And often to combine both I often bought a 4x4 Pick up. I have also owned a Suburban (which was sold like a station wagon then)

You can even see the shanking of the arthritic finger in the air. "Well, Sonny, back in the day..."
