Spy Shots: Ferrari Dino?

Looks like a Dino with a 430 body strapped to it.

first of all...

a) that IS an F430 body, it does not mean that the Dino will be based off of this car or look much like it, Ferrari is too smart for that.
b) wasn't the original rumor that the Dino was going to be front engine mounted??

Second of all...

WTF??

it seems to me that any Ferrari with 400hp is going to be head and shoulders above both the M6 and V8 Vantage (which aren't even competitors to begin with!) in terms of handling and performance, or either of the two. Not to mention, this test car is obviously mid-engined and the other two are front engine.



There's something fishy about this...

actually, I take one thing back, I guess the Vantage and the M6 could compete price-wise, but the M6 is much more impressive performance wise...I don't know why anyone would buy a V8 Vantage when you could drive off in an M6 or a Carrera S for the same price.

Because the Aston is so much better looking and has so much more prestige then the M6 or Carrera.

Speed isn't everything.

i'll give you the M6, but I wouldn't exactly say that the carrera is not prestigous...I bet 90% of the posters on autospies would rather have a carrera S over a V8 Vantage.

More prestigious than the M6, but not really the Porsche. When you drive up in a 911, you've arrived.

"affordable" by ferrari standards is probably around $130-150K...and i bet production numbers will still stay low...i wouldn't worry about everyone and their brother driving ferraris.

the 997 turbo is only around $120K and porsche makes more than twice the number of turbos than ferrari will ever make of this new car and i still don't see everyone and their brother driving a 911 turbo.

im just going to assume its a test mule for the engine , even though theyre both v-8's

What is the point of this car? The price point isn't vastly different from the F430, and yet it's less powerful? I also don't understand why they're benchmarking 100K cars for a 150-160K car??? In my opinion, someone who can spend 100K on a car may back at an extra 50+K, but if you're already spending 150 on a car, you probably won't mind bumping up to the F430?

i saw somewhere here on this website a company that added a "Body Kit" for the Ferrari does anyone know what website it is? it was said to make the ferrari look more classic

In February of 2004, Moter Trend ran an article titled: Future Cars Wish List. In this article, there was a 'Ferrari 350 Dino', illustrated by Mark Stehrenberger, which brings the classic Dino look into the 21st century. I think that this 350 Dino would be the best - looking Ferrari since the F355.
