Which Vehicles Are Owners Hanging On To The Longest?
The new cars that owners keep the longest before selling are mostly SUVs, according to a new study by automotive research firm and search engine iSeeCars.com. SUVs account for five of the top 10 new cars that owners keep the longest, followed by sedans, which have three models on the list.

The automotive research firm analyzed more than 6 million used vehicles sold by original owners to identify which models are kept the longest. The average length of ownership for the top 10 models ranges from 8.3 to 9.0 years – or 10.9 percent to 20.9 percent longer than the overall average (7.4 years).

That's an easy Question to Answer
1 - THe ones that are still running and not giving them any problems - OR -
2 - THe ones they still owe money on and have to keep running or
3 - Limited production or antique models that they put into their collections

Since the average age of a registered car in the USA is now 11.8 years - we have to assume that most are being kept for far longer times than once was.

I know right, but I always love when i see well maintained W124 series E Class even W210, the legendary W140 S Class, the few remaining 80/90's Jag XJ's that survived, the best looking BMW sedan ever in my opinion the E38 7 Series, and a host of other nice surprises that pop up here and there
