SPIED: It's COMING! Mercedes-AMG's GLE63 SLOWLY Undresses Itself In New Spy Pics
Oh, baby.

One thing that's quite impressive: Mercedes-Benz is still on its hot streak. Tell me, what's one vehicle launch they haven't completely drilled out of the park?

While Agent 001 and I still pine over the AMG GT4, it's time to focus our attention to something else. Waiting in the wings is the all-new Mercedes-AMG GLE63. That's right. It's coming.

Clearly based on the E-Class and its sporting flagship, the E63, expect the GLE63 — and we're sure GLE63 S — to feature the same 4.0-liter, bi-turbo V8 powerplants. Pushing out around 600 horsepower, it's going to be a force to be reckoned with.

But given the likes of the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, we think that Audi, BMW and Mercedes-AMG are going to have to step up their respective game. Perhaps we'll get surprised?

Don't hold your breath.

All that said, scope out the all-new GLE63, captured in the collection of snaps that can be accessed via the link below.

From reading the early press reviews of this new GLE they will own the market for German midsize SUVs. The ride quality apparently is amazing and they have updated the interiors to match the sedans. Lexus RX will probably stay at the top due to pricing, but this will steal a LOT of sales from BMW and Audi who have gotten way too lazy with their redesigns from both a design and technical standpoint.

Yes, I've seen a few published articles on testing of camo'd GLE prototypes off-road. This doesn't happen often, to my knowledge, that journalists can not only experience early models, but also publish their findings. Clearly Benz is very confident in the capabilities of this car. Hopefully the styling won't be a bit of a dud like the GLC.

Of course the GLE will get the AMG trim level. What else would entitled soccer moms drive to Starbucks? It will have more stuff on it, a more powerful engine, a go-fast front fascia, and AMG badges sprinkled everywhere. I'm sure it will be quite enjoyable.

WHen a manufacturer actually listens to their customers - and produces cars the customers really Want to have - rather than water them down for production - this is an example of what can happen.

Mercedes did intense double blind surveys of their customers - and they indicated that they wanted more plush interiors - more comfort - and a more Luxurious ride. THen Mercedes hit the nail on the head with the new S-class. And then they swung for out of the park - with the Maybach version. ANd the Maybach is selling like hotcakes. And it filtered down through the ranks. At the same time - those that wanted performance got the AMG line of cars.

Where is your data that the Maybach is selling like hotcakes?

That's because AMG is just a trim level.
