What those 19 states are saying is that they want CLEANER AIR - this has NOTHING to do with Tax Revenue - and YOU have again posted like trump - claiming that CLEANER AIR means less tax revenue - when there is NO support for such a statements.

THe FACT is - what the states are directly suing to do - is to protect their Constitutional RIGHTS to legislate in their own state. Yes - the Federal Government PROBABLY has the right to set minimum standards in this case - BUT - the states still should have the right to go them better IN THEIR STATES - and THIS has been the basis for conservatives for a Century - giving more rights to the states. IT amazes me what the ALt-right anarchists FLIP FLOP on these issues like a Slinky going don a staircase. To all the US posters commenting, go look at a chart of current US State Governors. You will find there are only 16 "Blue" states these days. Ergo, there are likely quite a few red state Governors that have gotten behind California on this important issue. Welcome to 2018. Intelligent leaders are not so inclined to mortgage the future for a vote today.

Quite a few red states? 19 total, 16 blue, leaves 3 red states out of 34 total? That's less than 10% which isn't quite a few. Must be that new Canadian math they are teaching up there. The 3 are likely purple states in an election year.

The United States is always looked at as this big polluter when in reality we pollute considerably less than countries much smaller than us. It has been proven time and time and time again that global warming is nothing but a liberal hoax/money grab and reducing mileage standards will have minimal impact on long term pollution so I will gladly allow standards to be peeled wayyyy back.
