97% Of Stolen Teslas In The US Since 2001 Have Been Recovered

American thieves really need to rethink their strategy when it comes to stealing Tesla vehicles because they are being caught at an alarming rate.

We’ve now learned that stolen Tesla vehicles in the US have almost all been recovered.

Last month, we reported on Tesla warning of theft risk through relay attacks in Europe and sharing ‘tips’ to help prevent those attacks.

It was in response to recent strings of Tesla thefts that appear to be organized in European cities.

The above is another reason to not buy a Tesla ... just think how the gov will be able to track your every move with electric cars in general.

I prefer my right to travel without gov interference.

This is a non-story - statistically, vehicles get stolen and statistically some portion (most?) get recovered.

The greatest motivation for stealing late model cars is the parts and there simply isn't enough profit in parts for Teslas because (1) there are comparatively speaking so few on the road and (2) the snowflake unicorns believe they can only have their Teslas serviced by the mother ship.
