A trio of New York City daredevils--surely soon to be in the custody of the NYPD--filmed themselves riding atop a series of subway cars as trains barreled through Brooklyn and Queens.

In videos posted to YouTube over the past three weeks, the train surfers are seen running, action movie-style, from car to car.

When I was a teen we used to get drunk or hi or both and car surf on the roof down country roads while blasting Pink Floyd. We did this regularly until my friend Sean slipped off, rolled head first into the pavement and subsequently died at 17. Before that we were convinced we were invincible, untouchable and immune to all danger just as these kids likely think of themselves. The hardest thing I ever had to do was face his family afterwards knowing that they fully blamed me for his death even though we were all naive, foolish but willing long term participants.

Kids do stupid shit and it is part of growing up even if it doesn't always end well and pier warnings go ignored usually until it is too late.
